In 2020, 100 years have passed since Southern Jutland was reunited with Denmark. The southern part of Denmark, Southern Jutland, was German from 1864 to 1920 and became Danish after a referendum. The 100th anniversary will be celebrated with events and activities throughout the country, which will culminate on July 10-12, 2020.

Now that is a pair of earrings that we might expect to see on Q. Max! Interesting that the sisters are wearing a similar colour, and it suits them both. (V.M.)

Princess Benedikte looks stunning. The queen, is wearing those 1980 white stockings again and that outfit is just, well, awful.... JT

    1. Yes, just one word for Princess Benedikte .... STUNNING. Don't quite understand what the Queen is wearing.

    2. yes a pity for the white stockings. This fur coat gets better through fashion waves. Her outfit seems a bit sophisticated but appropriate.

    3. Well, yes. Now I've seen a full photo of the Queen's outfit. I think she got her seamstress to run up a little number with the leftovers from the Christmas tree and gift wrappings. Shall I be punished for this comment? I'm sure that Queen Margerethe will forgive me.

to deadeggs: I'm sure that Queen Margerethe will forgive you.She is a real lady and she can rise above criticism, and perhaps learn from it. (However, if you said similar words to M. of Sussex, you would be accused of racism and fascism as I did when I commented on her outfit address). But back to Queen Margrethe. This dress is terrible - throw it away, Daisy, you can do it better.
I have great respect and admiration for this woman.

    7. Dear "anon 9:30". Glad I helped you to have a chuckle on your cold wintery day. And as Shakespear said somewhere along the line "and laugh we must".

To the author ms Helen Electra, and deadeggs. My profound apologies. For my confusing comment. I tried to comment with hilarious laughter, emoji's, on your second comment. Because, I am sure, you brought the house down. And deadeggs, I hope we see more of your humor, in future. As it is good, to have a good laugh! often

  4. The queens dress/ tunic whatever it was is very flattering while she was seated but very very strange indeed when seen at full length. I think it is time too, to put her fur coat on her bed or get all her furs, if she must wear them for warmt, re-modeled on slimmer lines. she just dissapears in volumes of billowing fur.

  5. I much adore Princess Benedikte for her choice of late outfits. She doesn't seem to put a foot wrong fashion-wise, given her position, age, and the particlar events she attended. Great woman.

  7. La couleur rouge leur va à merveille à toutes les deux... Très jolie la robe-manteau de Benedikte ; la fourrure de la reine ne l'avantage pas du tout ainsi que les bas blancs !

  8. What a lovely photo of the two sisters together. Princess Benedikte's dress is gorgeous. As DSC says, she seems to be able to choose the perfect outfit for every occasion. The Queen's outfit??? Well I like the earrings and the red tunic!

  9. In the first picture, Queen Margrethe could rival Princess Benedikte's style. The draping of the neckline is very flattering, and, of course, the earrings and necklace are gorgeous. Are they topazes, citrines??? Sadly, when viewed full length, her fashion-sense suffers. As for the white stockings, it may be that they are compression hose, worn to improve circulation. But, I agree that they are not attractive. Princess Benedikte looks fabulous, as always. The red metallic fabric of her gown is beautiful. She looks quite regal.

I have a question. In the last photo, how come when the lady in the metallic outfit leans forward, the bottom of the dress also tilts backwards? Is it because the material is so stiff? or just a very coincidental waft of breeze that blew it that way at the exact time the photographer clicked the photo? It reminds me of a birds tail.

I miss their sister, ex queen Anne- Marie, because, on many occasions, in the past, all 3 sisters attend public events, together, in Denmark. But maybe she was just unable, to attend, this time.
