  1. The Empress's flawless skin beautifully complimented by this rich colour. Love the detailing on the collar and hat and lovely to see her with a wide brim which is just the right size so as not to obscure her face. Like the way her husbands tie coordinates with her outfit. There is a gentle wind of change blowing through the Imperial Palace

I am going to piggy-back off of Unknown's comments. They are exactly what I am thinking. So no need to repeat everything.

She looks amazing. Such a transformation since becoming Empress. I think she finally feels free to be herself and her husband seems very supportive of her. They look happy.

  5. I very much like the magenta color of Empress Masako's suit with matching hat (a page out of Queen Elizabeth's play book). Her creamy complexion punctuated by her rose lip color is flawless. Last, but not least, her pearl necklace and earrings are a nice contrast to the deep color of her suit.

    1. Yes, a page out of Queen Elizabeth's play book but seriously, the Empress looks magnificent. The pearls and earings give class to the outfit. May she continue to have the happiness that is radiating from her face today.

  6. Quel magnifique couple.. Masako est ravissante dans cette couleur Bordeaux autant dans sa tenue que le chapeau ; beaucoup de classe chez l'empereur pour sa cravate de la même couleur rayée de blanc !

  7. The empress’s outfit is a lovely color, and it’s nice to see her wearing a hat with a wider brim than we are used to seeing on her.

Lovely outfit, but have to wonder, why the hat that covers part of her beautiful face, indoors. Also wonder why is there only one facility in the entire country for this type of help for the people of Japan.

It’s a timeless, traditional, classic style that she seems to favour. The colour is wonderful on her. (V.M.)

Esta vez ha acertado, sin salirse del estilo japonés este conjunto se ve de más calidad y mejor corte. El color es otro punto a favor. Espero siga mejorando.

    1. Sorry, I certainly don’t think the fashion choices and colours of the Empress are a matter of “improvement”, this implies that the Empress did not really know what to do beforehand, but perhaps a CAREFUL breakaway from the extremely strict dress code of the Imperial Court. I presume that there was so far no possibility for changes. I noticed this when the Empress wore the long evening gown a while back in this fantastic purple.

  17. The Empresses looks superb. Love the rich colour of her suit. The addition of pearl necklace and earrings give such an elegant and graceful look. Her hat is glorious, perfect fit and just enough brim so not to obscure her lovely face. She has the most wonderful complexion.
