Queen Mathilde visited Queen Fabiola Children's Hospital

On December 6, 2019, Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital (Universitair Kinderziekenhuis Koningin Fabiola) in Laeken, Brussels. Inaugurated in 1986, Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital is the only Belgian university hospital entirely reserved for children's medicine. During the visit, the Queen received information about the specificities of the hospital at the dialysis unit, the intensive care unit and the new operating room with high-tech robotics.

  1. A bit too reddish... for me..., Father Christmas could be jealous.

  3. Queen Mathilde in red like Santa Claus, looking very good. The Pant Suit is very appropriate and Handbag and Shoes complete it nicely. The Queen looks very happy interacting with the Kid's.

In Belgium and the Netherlands the 6th of december is the feast of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children.
Saint Nicholas is one of the sources of the popular Christmas icon of Santa Claus.

At least in Belgium and the Netherlands, St. Nicholas is for children, and not commercialized as Christmas like in North America. I have been in Canada for 63 years, and each year I hate "Christmas" more. It is so commercialized that it has absolutely no meaning as a religious feast.
