Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited Miyagi

Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited the northeastern Japan prefectures of Miyagi and Fukushima to offer encouragement to people affected by deadly Typhoon Hagibis in mid-October. The typhoon ripped through a wide area of Japan, leaving more than 90 people dead. On December 26, the Emperor and the Empress arrived in Miyagi Prefecture. The Emperor and the Empress of Japan talked to victims of Typhoon at temporary housing in Marumori. This is their first visit to a disaster-hit area since the emperor's enthronement in May.

  1. Un couple sympathique et toujours complice qui n'a pas peur d'aller sur le terrain sous la pluie... Il me semble que c'est la première fois que je vois Masako porter une paire de pantalons avec col-roulé pour tous les deux !!!

  2. These two are doing a great job. It must not be easy to see all the destruction Mother Nature can deliver. All they can do is to give the people courage and hope and listen to them. The right outfit for the Empress.

  3. I think they both look great. A simple outfit for E. Masako but as always, it’s beautifully tailored. (V.M.)

  6. I rarely comment on the Japanese fashion as I find it ugly (although I used to like the former empress style) in this suit I fail to see the "beautifully tailoring" could someone elaborate more?
I've visited Japan a twice and the beauty is every where but I never see it reflected in the royal family outfits

  7. To answer the question about tailoring - the jacket is a perfect fit at the shoulder, the lapels are well proportioned, the button closure is at a flattering point on her torso, the sleeves are a good length etc., etc. (V.M.)
