Queen Mathilde visited ISC Barvaux-sur-Ourthe in Durbuy

On November 14, 2019, Queen Mathilde visited the Institut du Sacré-Coeur in Barvaux (ISC Barvaux) in Durbuy and attended a class with students from the second year of secondary education to support reading aloud and encourage adults and children to read. The Queen read aloud some fragments of books by Belgian authors who participate in the contest of Le Fonds Victor. The Fund is committed to getting young people to read. 1. I like her outfit and especially her hair today. She looks cute with her glasses.

  2. I like Mathilde's top, and her gorgeous hair! -- and the pants aren't particularly bad -- but frankly if Mathilde decided to never again wear pants, I'd be very happy. A pencil skirt in matching plaid would have looked great.

Outfits that bring attention to the shoulder area, as here (thanks entirely to the eyecatching scarf), are always wonderful on Mathilde.

    1. I absolutely do not agree - she got such lovely superlong legs and looks fab in pants (well, not always in Natan, but nevertheless)!.

    2. Indeed, pant suits are stylish, practical and powerfull women wear them. Top fashion in W-Europe.
In the Anglo-Saxon world (especially UK and Ireland) women dress more conservately (or way to the other side of the spectrum)

    3. Top is great. Not sure if the colour of the pants match really good with the jacket. Maybe black pants would have been better

    4. Do not agree with ypur pencil skirt comment, pants are far more modern and practical.
By the way, Mathilde looks good in pants, she has long legs.

  3. Another Natan pant suit for Queen Mathilde, and just as unflattering as the previous one! (which was ill-fitted).
Here the fit is ok, but the colours....sorry not my cup of tea. That big cape/ shawl stuff looks just too much with a short jacket, and the grey pants are ok but boring and call for a more solid shoe.
Otherwise Mathilde looks good, nice hair and makeup.

    1. Agree, the shawl looks as if it thrown on the jacket at the last moment, to add something special, whereas a perfectly fitting jacket in this material in a normal blazer model would have been so much better.... Mathilde seems to be a nice lady, but not one with much dress sense.

    3. I think this is a successful Natan design, certainly the top, trousers could be made of some lighter fabric. I also prefer this one to the one earlier in the week.

  4. This is much more successful than yesterday's outfit. I definitely prefer a plain pant with a patterned top. I would have loved to see her with the longer coat, but the jacket is nice.

My royal fashion wish for 2020 is that the Benelux women forgo Natan for a while. There must be some other designers they can work with. Aren't there?

    1. Totally agree. Similar to yesterday in many ways but much more appealing. Like the touches of vivid lemon to brighten the overall look.

  6. Une petite veste avec une jupe-crayon dans ces couleurs grise/jaune serait plus flatteuses !!!

  8. Great look for Q Mathilde. This looks good, like the splash of color.

  9. I do not follow the Natan haters above. Natan is appreciated a lot in Belgium.
The only royals who dress better than Mathilde & Maxima are Mary & Letizia. Both are very thin and look good in anything.

  10. I rather like Mathilde's version of this Natan jacket. Natan doesn't always get right in my opions. And reading aloud is an excellent way to learn and enjoy reading. Good charity/event to support.

  11. Colours and style of this "jacket" are a great choice for the Queen, but unfortunately the piece is much to short on her - in my humble opinion! (The picture with the Model shows a better look.)

The Queen looks lovely. An unusual pantsuit but suits her well.

  13. The bright yellow of the scarf/shawl accentuates the golden highlights of her hair. Her makeup is perfect, and her complexion is magnificent. I like the jacket although I agree it might look better if it were a bit longer. Queen Mathilde seems to glow when she is among children.

  14. She looks wonderful! This is such a color trend right now, and this print is a great way to do it, not overpowering and so fun. Looks great in her trousers. She always seems so engaged in her appearances, with a beautiful smile. Her hair looks great.
