The Duchess of Sussex visited ActionAid in Johannesburg

On October 1, 2019, The Duchess of Sussex visited ActionAid in Johannesburg during the royal tour of South Africa to raise awareness about sexual violence in schools. The Duchess received information about the charity's activities aiming to struggle with the issue affecting women and girls in the region. The Duchess met with Nondumiso Nsibande, country director of ActionAid South Africa. The Duchess wore a new cotton shirtdress by Room 502. Room502 is a direct-to-consumer, brand based in Canada.

  1. Interesting earrings. I would love to see more of them than in the first and second picture.

  4. I would say exactly the same as about the beige dress earlier--basically very nice cotton dress but too tight and too short, the short length emphasised by the high heeled shoes. I applaud the plainer, less expensive wardrobe for this tour, which is certainly fit for purpose, but good fit is possible even without a couture wardrobe. Love the fourth last photo where she is looking up at something.

    3. Yep, I agree: too tight, too short, but an agreeable style for her. It just looks uncomfortable in the tightness. I love the color!

This is the second dress of late where a few cm on the length would look so much better.

Normally, I would totally agree but the thing with Megan is, she doesn't have very shapely legs so having a hemline just above knee actually looks better for her, imo. Seeing the knees helps the eyes balance out the thinness of her legs. Now, I'm not saying she go much higher than the hemline of this dress but definitely right across the knee or a couple of cm above (when standing) or wear a midi-style dress.

Yes, I agree. Just a few more cm on this dress would be so much better.

I dont think the dress is too short, but definitely one size too small, which makes the front slit more noticeable and makes the hem look too short.

    4. Totally agree with your assessment. I think the Duchess looks best in either just above the knee dresses or midi-length dresses to highlight her fine ankles.

I agree, the length is not in balance with her physical appearance. BTW, don't like her, sorry off-topic, Frieda

same neutral colors throughout the whole trip; Biege, white, Black, Army green. A bit boring for fashion followers but good for her, so more attention drawn to the course

Pretty low key dress with very good color for Meghan. All those Pichulik earrings she has had are really nice. - Siri

  10. This is not a dress that’s inspiring. I feel that with trying to have a low key wardrobe elegance was left aside. A few of the dresses could have been a few cm longer and a few cm wider, perhaps buttoned up higher or lower in the skirts. Her choice of shoes could also have been better, more informal and lower heels in place of high heels. And something must be done with her hair. It really does look like a fly away style. I like the use of local a accessories. That’s a good watt to show interest in the local market. . .

It’s a great colour and a nice casual style but I’m left feeling that the fit is off. A bit too short and a bit too tight. I think low heeled shoes would have been more complementary too. The earrings are fab though. (V.M.)

    1. I agree with you about a lower heeled shoe. I think it would have looked much better with the length of the dress. Regarding the fit, I am keeping in mind that she may still be breastfeeding, and her size can vary. She could benefit from a little more room in the dress for sure. Love the earrings and love that she continues to purchase and wear local designs.

Again, don't see how it's too short. Royals can show leg it's 2019. Love the color and the earrings look so interesting. - Capt. Marvel
