  1. A simple blood red dress, but with a great cut and such exquisite detailing! Exactly the kind of simple sophisticated style I favour. I wonder who the designer is.
Of the two princesses, I prefer the tan dress. The blue/grey dress looks tight, short and ill fitting.

  3. School holiday in Spain now?
In our country, such a young royalty rarely attends public affairs. I was surprised that the princess is giving a speech but it’s great thing.

    1. Not surprised at all, her father did the same as same age, they need to start with their royal roles, they are not "normal" people they need to work for their country.

  4. She always wears Varela for these awards, and this time he went more undrestated than usual, I am sure that the queen didn't want to distract too much, as this is Leonor's day. She always looks fantastic in red, and on this occasion the main piece are the earrings, just wow!!! Perfect as usual.
It is my choice not to comment on the kids outfits ever, just an observation regarding how beautiful they are.
I listened to her speech, and she is so sweet, these girls are just lovely, and is just a delight watching the family together. She mentioned her grandmother Sofia and you could see how pleased she was, also the maternal grandmother couldn't contain the tears, all in all, they looked just like any other loving family.
Love this yearly tradition, where the awards are so significant.
    Well done!!

  5. What a day for this family. Letizia is her stunning self in red. I would call it restrained glamour. The detail is magnificent. The shallow 'v' front and back is very flattering, and the delicate ruching accentuates her waist. The minimal use of sequins is perfect for this evening, taking the dress up a notch without looking overdressed next to the girls. Once again, Leonor and Sofia are lovely. Leonor looks so composed making her speech. The best image to me is seeing the pride on Felipe and Letizia's faces.

  7. Letizia looks superb. I love her shoes. Leonor’s dress the fit is off which surprises me. Usually the girls are impeccably dressed.

  8. The Queen’s dress is a beautiful colour but again I think it would look better if slightly shorter. I usually love the girls’ dresses but while Sofia’s is lovely, on this occasion, although the fabric of Leonor’s dress is gorgeous, I don’t think the style is flattering at all. She looks wonderful in the simple shift style she usually favours. It’s lovely to see the very obvious pride that King Felipe has in his wife and daughters.

  9. The queen's red dress is simple as is the detailing. The girls dresses as preteens looked particularly angelic. Leonor has done well. I do not think either her mother or grandmother breathed during her speech.

  10. Beautiful family! Letizia looks so much better when she wears age appropriate styles. This red dress is exquisite! The infantas look lovely, and the video of the speech by crown princess Leonor is a testament of good parenting and education. Hole, Espana!

  15. The most regal and beautiful princesses!
I have two grandsons, same ages as the princesses, and I am grooming them for the day they will meet! 😊

  16. Please give the girls some age appropriate clothes and ban these teeny weeny ballerina slipper. It's just too childlike. If it is Leonor's day, why does Letizia dress in purple and Leonor in pastel? I would have thought the other way round. Christine.

  17. Letizia has such a great style, I love it, especially because she does not seem to need rediculous big hats, tons of jewellery and out-of-place gloves, to let the world know that she is the queen. She seems to understand that she only is queen because of her marriage and not in her own right. Besides that she gives Spain a very nowadays and normal, but very elegantly, looking version of being queen.....almost as if she herself understands that the monarchy is no more than a relict from earlier days, and playing her part in that should be done with modesty.

    1. Well said and I totally agree. Letizia doesn't need clothing items as props to remind everyone that she is the queen. She just wears clothes that fit her perfectly and keeps her hair healthy looking and styled nicely.

    2. I see the queen more in the mode of working for her, for Spain. Until their trips outside of the country were reduced, the impression they projected was that they were interested in inviting the best minds in health, science, education in general and business to visit Spain. It helps that they are good looking and add a touch of glamour to the mix. Her fashion is indeed modest and never over the top. Many women would raid her closet if given the chance. (Her coats would belong to me).
'She seems to understand that she only is queen because of her marriage and not in her own right'. Was this necessary? Consort/regnant cannot be a difficult concept for someone who studied for a PhD to understand. Then, there is the example of Sofia (consort) to follow as she said in the beginning.

  19. Wow, this family is always so good looking. Princess Leonor did a great job with her speech. She knows how to addressed and make eye contact with the people she is talking about. I love how she is not just reading her speech unlike other royals.

The Queen looks lovely, the colour suits her well. The emerald earrings are stunning. Love the shoes and bag, perfect choice. The girls are a credit to their parents. Princess Leonor, is amazing. Her speech, she simply nailed it. Such poise and grace for someone yet still young. This is just a taste of things to come she is going to be outstanding. Both girls are going to be beautiful women, they are stunning looking. Their parents have done a wonderful job raising them.

    1. Falso. Son propiedad de la Reina Letizia, regalo de boda de un Emirato árabe, con otras piezas que nunca ha usado aún.
