| On October 29, Queen Margrethe, accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, hosted a concert a dinner in the Dome Hall at Fredensborg Castle for representatives of the unity of the Realm. Throughout the years, The Queen and Prince Henrik have held concerts at Fredensborg Palace to which various groups from society have been invited. This year, The Queen invited the some persons who make a contribution to the unity of the Realm between Greenland, the Faroes and Denmark. |

ردحذفI like Margrethe’s dress but I’m not fan of the belt with it. Love Mary’s outfit. The beading on her skirt and the detail at the neckline of her blouse.

According to protocol black-tie is not worn daytime (at least not in Scandinavian countries). With gentlemen in black tie it is not obligatory for ladies to wear a full length gown. The choice depends on the type of the event. A concert + a dinner is a good example where ladies wear short dresses - or long midi as queen Margrethe does. If this event had ended with dancing, then a full length gown would have been the right choice.
حذفSeveral of the guests are wearing traditional suits/dresses of their region. E.g. the white jackets are worn by men from Greenland.

These events are very closely coordinated with dress protocols in mind. If protocol had called for a full length gown as the appropriate attire, I have absolutely no doubt the Queen and Mary would have been in full length gowns.

Did you notice The Queen's black wrap with the beading? In first photo she is wearing it and in another photo she is holding it over her arm. Love it!
