Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel attended a memorial ceremony held for MS Estonia victims

On September 28, 2019, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden attended a memorial ceremony held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the sinking of the passenger ferry MS Estonia. The ceremony took place at the Estonia Monument on Djurgården in Stockholm. The sinking of the ferry MS Estonia 25 years ago was memorialized at ceremonies in Stockholm and Tallinn.

The ferry sank while on a voyage from Tallinn to Stockholm on September 28, 1994. The sinking of the MS Estonia on the night of September 28, 1994 was the biggest civilian marine accident in Europe since the Second World War. It is the second-deadliest peacetime sinking of a European ship, after the RMS Titanic. 852 people died, 501 of whom were from Sweden.

    Wow, has it been 25 years? Such a terrible tragedy. Victoria is dressed nice for this somber event even though her black slacks are way too long. Very sad occasion, she was in tears. /Julie/

  9. I have a difficult time commenting on attire worn to funerals or memorials. I think it is a time that the focus should remain on the day, not on the clothes. Today, I am feeling the need to make a quick comment that Victoria has put herself together very well. The clean lines, colors, and the cut of the coat and pants all look very good on her, not to mention that her outfit sets the right tone for this ceremony.
