Crown Princess Victoria attended the naming ceremony of R/V Svea

On September 25, 2019, Crown Princess Victoria attended the naming ceremony of new research vessel Svea owned by Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The newly built Swedish vessel Svea will be used by SLU and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) for a wide variety of environmental surveys, from monitoring ocean acidification to assessing fish stock. The ceremony was held in the ship's home port, at Gullmarskajen in Lysekil. The Crown Princess then visited the Institute of Marine Research. The Crown Princess wore a wool jacket by Andiata.

Lovely event for the CPss. I like the coat and dress not so much the shoes.

  4. I can't help it, but I've never liked a midi dress (or skirt) with boots. Often looks so clunky...
The colour of the dress is great though and nicely combined with the coat.

The dress is ok but for me the star of the show is the coat: colour, cut, style and the way it looks on Victoria in the outdoor photo third from the bottom. Very nice.

    1. True: Simply wow! The coat, the scarf and those colours: a perfect mixture today. Nothing to critizise!

  6. Lovely dress in a nice colour. If only the shooties were replaced by smart courts.Lovely coat. If only it was longer and covered the dress.

Second picture not a good picture. She is not at a football game or in a playground with children. Too much of everything. Nice outfit.

She is wearing the beautiful coat again, with a scarf that is a deeper shade and looks terrific with the coat. Beautiful outfit ! ....jt

Second time for a floral dress and low boots, not a great look.

    1. I agree about ALL of the colors and I especially like the coat and scarf. The dress colors are good, but I wish somebody would give her some other ideas about prints: spots and dots, geometrics, plaids, stripes - some variation would sure be more interesting. Most of her choices are so matronly. At least the boot color makes them less offensive.

  12. Bathrobe warning on this coat! Too many flowery dresses, Victoria should consider changing her stylist and go for someone with a bit younger taste.

Perhaps her feet/ankles are sensitive to cold and that’s the reason she has chosen ankle boots — which I find stylish and nice — instead of more open shoes. Sweden is not Spain or even England, after all. Just guessing. I personally like her ankle boots and would probably use them myself if just my feet could tolerate high heels.

    1. Spot on , Tess. We need ancle boots in this climate. They come with different heels. Mine are almost flat, very comfy. //Haga

I agree. People seem to forget that there are a few countries within the arctic circle, and that Sweden is one of those countries.
I, as a scandinavian, find it hard to look stylish and also not freeze to death. The big fashion houses of the world doesn't create fashion for cold countries. They create it for stylish Parisian women etc... I would love to wear a nice beret during winter time, but I put on a big wool hat that covers my ears instead because I value my health... So there's that.

    3. Totally agree. It's really cold in Sweden right now, Princess Victoria must be freezing wearing a dress!

I like the colours but not the dress or the coat nor the shoes. No outfit harmony here -/Liz
