Before anyone starts to wonder people's coloured clothing: princess Christina had wished that ladies wear bright colours (including flowered fabrics). And sunflower was her favourite flower.

    1. I was wondering if the bright colors were a cultural thing but what a nice idea that she wanted bright colors. Everyone honored her wish. It also reflects the Christian beliefs that if you trust in Christ for forgiveness of your sins the broken relationship with the Father will be restored and you will have eternal life in a wonderfully happy place so bright colors reflect that. My grandmother said the same thing but went a step further saying she wanted her funeral to be a happy celebration of her long life not a sad occasion. We did our best to enjoy our family and remember silly stories about her that day. It was truly a wonderful day. I'm hoping this family had some joy as well.

What a nice idea, to have a colorful funeral and to have the mourners wear sunflowers of various sorts, they must have been Christina's favorite flower as per being atop her casket.

What a beautiful wish and thought, that one should celebrate life, not mourn death. Even though their faces are sombre, their clothes remind of the importance of joy and gratitude for life.

Funerals are always sad. This one of Pss Christina, must have brought back lots of painful memories for the Royal Family. How nice to see, they are celebrating her life. The life of a very talented and loving lady. RIP Pss Chistina of the Netherlands.
