Queen Letizia and her daughters Leonor and Sofia visited the Sunday market in Pollença

Queen Letizia and her daughters Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, accompanied by former Queen Sofia, visited the Sunday market in Pollença on the morning of August 4, 2019. Every Sunday, the streets of Pollença are filled up with more than 300 stalls selling local produce, arts and crafts, clothes and much more. I've been to the same shop as Sofia and Leonor two years before and actually wearing the bracelet I bought there. Good choice.

Nice trip to the market with mother and grandmother. I like their summer outfits, every one looks good.I like the ponytails on Leonore and Sofia.

  3. Agree with those who wrote in a previous post that it is strange how Sofia constantly grabs her granddaughters hands.

Not strange at all to me. They obviously are close & security is an issue. When I visited Europe I held my child's hand EVERY time we were walking among crowds. Plus Sophia isn't loved by her husband as she should be so I think it's wonderful that she has such a loving relationship with her grandchildren.

I find it odd how it is only with Leonor and Sofia not her other grandkids.

      I agree, strange.

Agree Coralie. Notice that she doesn't do that with her daughters' born children: not a question of age, Ines and Leonor are exactly the same. Letizia might been odd, but her mother-in-law have never made it easy for her.

Not of all her granddaughters, only of the Crown Princess :(

      Obviously you’re not a grandmother.
It is something one does instinctively like stretching out your arm to the passenger side when one brakes. I didn’t appreciate it either when my mother-in-law did it... until I became a grandmother. 🥰

I agree with you Coralie and the other person that posted about the strange hand holding, especially with the interlocking fingers. I was particularly close with my grandmother but would have never walked around holding her hand in this way and at this age.

Anon 10:37...whe you visited Europe? The safest continent?? So in Africa, America, South America and Asia, what would you do?
Sofia was not loved? An the others Queens? They all have had the same life, learn about Sweden and Sonia.

You need help as Sofia, some people speak about any kind of daementia.

Are you all serious? This is idiotic to have this discussion. Clearly none of you are close to family. Families hold hands all the time and interlocking fingers..like really? Why scrutinize how someone holds hands let alone the fact they hold hands. Like what is wrong with showing affection and protection. Leonor and Sofia are next in line unlike the other grandchildren and are more vulnerable to press and public. Maybe Sofia like to hold hands with the girls, maybe the other grandchildren don't like it. Ugh I can't believe you all are mocking how family shows love.

There is nothing strange about a grandmother holding hands with her granddaughter. It’s normal in most cultures. I feel sorry for those who were deprived affection from their grannies and feel this loving behavior is odd. I do notice that she seems closer to Leonor but then again, Leonor will be Queen one day (and give birth to an heir) and has that immense weight on her young shoulders. Sofia knows what it means to be Queen and to raise a King, so who better to mentor the young princess? Everyone thinks it’s so sweet Queen Elizabeth has private time with William to teach him but when Queen Sofia shows affection, she gets criticized. Leave the poor lady alone! Sheesh!

Sofia is very close to her granddaughters. It is up to the girls themselves to allow it or not. It does not seem they dislike it, so what is wrong?

    12. I think another part od the reasons for her protective attitude is perhaps also to share particularly with Leonor her "own popularity"! Remember, the results of a recent opinion poll were Qu Sofia caming on top of popularity figures.

Well, I'm a grandmother and I never walked hand-in-hand with my teenage grandchildren. However... I'm not an attention seeker and one of my grandchildren is not a future queen. There's the rub.

I can’t find the jumpsuit on Mango’s website. Is it sold out or a previous collection?

Very cute outfit for QL, shopping lessons for the little ones and promotion of the market.
At a market like this my grandmother wanted you to stay within sight, examine the items, and be curious enough ask questions of her and the vendors. Sometimes she even gave you a few dollars to buy whatever you liked and practice haggling with the vendors. Absolutely no hand holding.
