Most definitely not something I expected her to wear but she looks beautiful.

  2. Absolutely beautiful. Charlotte's dress is bridal yet distinctly her own and perfect for the natural location. Delicate lace details frame her face and the floral tiara.

  5. Looks like she has got some inspiration from her mother's wedding dress (with Philippe Junot). They are not similar at all but there is some similarity, especially around the neck and the veil is perhaps the same. I do not like the ruffle but perhaps it looks good when she moves. She is very beautiful, they make a nice couple.

    1. My first thought was 'she's wearing her mother's dress' but then I saw the rest of it. I like the top but not the ruffle.

    2. It seems so, but that was a failed marriage that didn't last even a year. I hope hers is a lasting one

    3. Let's hope so Winnie. That family has had bad luck enough.

    4. Caroline and Junot's marriage lasted 2 years and they were together for nearly 5 years. The mistake was the getting married part - I think if she had just been able live with him like somebody untitled the scales might have fallen from her eyes sooner.

It's a beautiful dress. So much to admire, especially the sleeve details, empire bodice and delicate neckline.
Lovely! Wish we could see it in full.

Agree, it´s a pity to see just a part, but they do not have to show any pic. In that sense thank you for a Wonderful Impression !

  9. One of the best wedding dresses in a long time, this dress is exquisite, and the hair, and veil are just perfect.
I know that facial hair is trendy nowadays and with a little care it looks attractive, but IMO the groom looks unkept.

    1. When you mentioned facial hair, I thought you meant Charlotte at first! I agree with you that Dimitri could have cleaned up the beard. His neck looks very sloppy.

I totally agree, Cherry Blossom, he could've at least trim his hair a bit, and shaved! And yes Anon 6:17, also wish we can see it in full

On most pics the only thing you can see properly is his nose. I hope this hairy fashion will soon come to an end.
      Her dress - absolutely beautiful.

To my eye his beard is well trimmed and combed, though a bit longer than a mere stubble but that’s ok. A beard suits most men, as it does Dimitri, too. Funnily, I also thought about her mother’s first wedding when I saw the dress. Hope this marriage will be happier and last longer!

For me it seems that Dimitri is really comfortable with himself and is a person with the ability of unconditional love. Hopefully Charlotte and her family have discovered what a blessing he is to them.

Why does she wear the white dress? She has 2 children and she lived with her husband before wedding (and with previous partner Gad Elmaleh). She is a catholic (like me) and she must know what christian (catholic) religion says about mariage. Some people see religion wedding like some theathre. It is not right. On the other side: Dresses is very nice.

This is exactly the kind of comment a catholic should avoid to make. There is nothing wrong to have a church wedding no matter how you lived and no matter how you behaved. May I suggest you to read Bishop Barron's "extreme demands and extreme mercy“? You do not have any idea what it's going on with her life and her faith. Just think twice about some people we catholics do consider as saints: Maria Magdalena or Augustine just to name a few. Also the catholics are told by the church to wear white only once: on their baptism.
As a result, a white wedding dress is not compulsory, and should not convey anything about the bride's state of life, just a matter of taste and preference.
I think that her dress is surprising, I think that she looks beautiful and unique. She and her husband had gone through the loss of their fathers in horrible ways: Dimitri's committed suicide, and Charlotte's was killed in a violent accident. I hope that they find peace, love and solace in their marriage.
      MARIE

    2. Please, pretty please leave your religious platitudes for another forum. I am catholic myself, and nowhere do I see that women that have children can't wear white, or marry in the church. Your judgement it's not very christian, just saying......

    3. Marie, thank you for your thoughtful comment, that is the way a true person of faith regardless of religious affiliation contemplates life, doing the most good and avoiding radicalism.
      Thanks again.

    4. Hi, Anonymous at 7:07 -- I agree that some brides these days seem to regard a wedding more as a piece of theatre than as a solemn and binding rite. I'm happy that we do not know the spiritual disposition of this bride and groom, so that we can assume the best and hope the best for them. Whether this is the first marriage for both, I do not know, but if not, perhaps a previous marriage of one or the other has been declared null.

As for the dress, I love what I can see -- but given some of Charlotte's previous fashion statements, I have to wonder if it is above-the-knee -- which imo would look disappointingly juvenile. There must be some full-length pictures available, so we shouldn't be wondering for long :-).

    6. @Anon 7:07 As a Catholic, it bothers me when people like you try to speak for the church. Just be happy for them and keep your erroneous statements to yourself, please.

Another pretty staunch Catholic here. No where in Catholic doctrine does it say or dictate what clothing or colour a bride should wear. That's just ridiculous to assume. Any bride can wear whatever she wants, and whatever colour she wants.
Fashion or social etiquette used to be that white was the colour for a first marriage, but even that nowadays is no longer necessary. As long as the bride (and the groom for that matter) is wearing a smile, indicating future happiness and a commitment to each other, we're good.

      I agree, Marie.

What a nice bridal flower bouquet. Very down to earth, mediterranean and in close touch with nature. Even if they actually live contrary to this....The gown is almost seventies ;-) Really surprising outfit.

No such thing as too many weddings. The dress is simple;no doubt the price isn't. I do like her bouquet;I think an ear of Wheat is something quite fruit full. Her hair is pretty. May they have a long happy life together.

  28. very pretty but surprising choice of wedding dress for Charlotte until suddenly I remembered Caroline's wedding dress at her wedding with Philippe Junot. Different times, different details but very similar sentiment...

  29. She has a wonderful imaginative taste that is always original and suits her to perfection.Style with substance.Like Grace, her mother and even sister in law.She highlights herself thru fashion like a second skin. She doesn't just wear a dress like everyone else and one can't see her in any of the wedding dresses the English royals have worn. They age fast.Carolines with the hairband of flowers can still hold it own.Charlotte could even of worn it today. The only thing I remember from some wedding s was the tiaras, like Meghan's,Princess Eugenie, more than the dress.
