Nice summer outfit just right for this visit. The only thing i don't like are the shoes that is OMO.

This is a quintessential British Country look. A little quirky, colourful, a little mismatched but everything of great quality. Sophie looks fabulous and so relaxed.

Everything was pretty good until we got to the shoes. I don't dislike the shoes themselves; I just don't think they work with this outfit. I think she could have gone with a pair of nice trousers or jeans for this event.

  5. No to those espadrilles - they make her legs look short and stumpy. You have to be super tall and have really slim legs to wear this style of footwear. Sophie looks lovely in the photos just showing her from the waist up.

  6. I love the skirt itself, but the length isn't doing her good, especially not with these shoes; I'm sorry but it looks really odd to me. And I wouldn't have combined it with the blouse and blazer, there is too much going on. A simple top/ shirt would've been enough and way better, in my opinion.
    But I love her attitude!

  7. Like all the elements here apart from the shoes.. The jacket is a lovely colour and well fitted, the blouse has a nice neckline and it looks like a lovely soft material, and I like the style and pattern of the skirt. Together, though? A bit too quirky for me

I agree that the shoes are not appropriate for a visit to a farm. They remind me of ballet pointe shoes. The rest of the outfit is very nice, I think, although the skirt is too long. Her makeup and hair are well done.

It is not a visit o a farm. And those clunky soles are hardly like ballet shoes.

  9. Sophie's hair looks like a cringe-inducing failed try at achieving the "messy bun" look. I hope she will not go this route again; there are safer ways to achieve a casual look.

I agree with others that her outfit's quirky charm works nicely for this event.

    1. Oh Sophie, the hair! Not doing it for me.

I agree with just about everyone else here: the shirt, jacket, skirt, and shoes are all lovely, but not all together at the same time. Shirt/jacket/shoes with denim or denim-colored pants would have worked great.

Sophie's fashion sense is like the little girl with the curl in the nursery rhyme: "When she's good, she's very very good, but when she's bad, she's . . . " Well, i'll leave it to ya'll to fill in the blank.

I totally agree, Marybeth in Florida, and Jane Chantal, I miss her short hair style, too much

Love Sophie's outfit think somebody stated about floral's and Her Majesty's style;so Kate Sophie and co are right on trend this summer. I love the outfit on the lady in the first photo;floral dress and fascinator

  11. Funny how some people seem to nail the outfit nine out of 10 times and others get a OMG all the way. S. is clearly one of those ladies getting it right for almost every occasion; Letizia, Mathilde too. It cannot be just being well-advised.

Well, I would say all the parts are nice as themself (though I'm not big fan of that skirt) but together they just look wrong. But like somebody already mention, very English.

  13. Sophie is usually a frumpy, dumpy mess. She often wears dresses that have no shape and are too long. The prints she choses are old fashioned, and she has worn shoes that have contributed to the over-all look that ages her. I think she shows a great deal of improvement here. Her blazer is not boxy at all, but has some shape, defining a waistline. Her skirt has a more pleasing floral than the ditsy prints we have seen so much of lately. Her wedges are young and fresh. While I don't know that all the individual pieces are the best together, it is a good effort. I think a more casual jacket would have worked better than the blazer. Even a sweater t-shirt instead of the blouse would have been prefered. As for her hair, she did not fail at a messy bun. She pulled it up/back with a clip. Not the best look. I do appreciate the fact that she was keeping her hair more casual, but a simple ponytail would have probably looked better.

I think she looks so pretty and fresh. She looks ready for the job at hand and she appears to be enjoying herself. Good for you C. Sophie!!

I do agree that her look is very English but I also think that something is not matching well . It could be the jacket or blazer , the blouse with the skirt and the pair of shoes are very well matching . The jacket with the blouse are very well fitting and it would be perfect with plain skirt or pants . That is my taste and I think Sophie is a lovely lady.

It’s a mix and a miss for me. Each piece is fine, but not worn together. The long skirt needs a shorter jacket, the long jacket needs matching trousers ( would be a fabulous pantsuit ), and the espadrilles need a light, floaty dress (something like D. Kate is wearing elsewhere in today’s posts.) (V.M.)

It just does not work well together. The blouse neckline looks to 'messy' with the jacket, which is too dark of a color for the skirt, which is too long, while the ugly bag should have been left in the closet and the shoes worn at home, with a pair of shorts, not with a long skirt. Hair is a frazzled mess, but then it could have been humid with makes hair crazy. Sorry Sophie, just not a good outfit, though each piece is nice, just not together.
