On June 12, 2019, the 25th and final of the hikings in the landscape of Sweden started by Crown Princess Victoria took place in Dalarna. During the hiking, Princess Sofia accompanied the Crown Princess. The hiking began at Fulufjället National Park and there, the Governor Ylva Thorn welcomed Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Sofia. The Crown Princess and Princess Sofia started their hiking at National Park and passed through the world's oldest known individual tree, Old Tjikko and arrived at Njupeskär waterfall. Njupeskär is a waterfall in the river Njupån in Fulufjället National Park and the highest waterfall in Sweden.

Very nice to see these two sisters-in-law doing an informal event together on their own. They look relaxed and to be enjoying themselves and each others company.

Well this is a very nice surprise to see both Pss's doing things together. They really had fun. Like their casual outfits too must not always be Gala Gowns to look good.

Like seeing the sisters-in-law together. Just curious, since I am not from Sweden, why do they do so many "hikes" in Sweden that seem to be quite newsworthy? We walk and hike in my country too, but it is not such a big deal.

A hike is always newsworthy when it’s done by the heir to the throne getting to really know her country and people. :-) Here in the Nordic countries we still have a close relationship to nature with our everyman’s rights and summer cottages etc., and Victoria’s hikes reflect that relationship very well. Glad to see Sofia there as well, as it is her home county they were hiking through.

    2. I believe Princess Victoria had set a personal goal of hiking in all 25 provinces of Sweden before her 40th birthday. As the heiress to the throne perhaps she wanted to visit all the provinces to connect with the people and the nature?

The last picture of the two sister in laws in what I presume to be the train station as they return from their excursion is too cute!

I believe that the hikes through all landscapes was a gift from all regions in Sweden for the Crown princess's 40th birthday; for the people to see her and for her to see the people and all corners of Sweden. A rather nice idea I think. I believe that this was the last of all the hikes.

I did not know this was a goal of hers. Thank you Anna for the information.

After the folly of their outfits (pink fluff/red flower mess) these looks are great! Both nice women, but those weird outfits were just too over the top (evening gowns).
