Fergie - OMG! Looks like she had just stopped cleaning the house and raced to Ascot. Without changing clothes!!

The Queen looks amazing in this colour. Love the hat, and love, love, love the brooch. Well who wouldn’t! Sarah Ferguson rarely gets it right and this is no exception. The dress pulls badly at the bustline, the stitching at the pockets looks puckered, and the purple shoes, from what I can see, go with neither the dress or the other accessories.

The Queen: Lovely in pink! That colour is beautiful and I like the variation in the styling of her coat. Nice feathery hat too.
Fergie: Gosh... she could have made a better effort. That looks like a house dress. However that yellow and the teal (or is it green?) are a great combination and the possibilities are endless. Pity she didn't do more with it.

Day 4 of Royal Ascot. The Queen looks classy as always. I like Lady helen Taylors dress, but not the orange bow on her right shoulder. I don't know what to say about the bright yellow dress of Sara's. There is a post on the Royal Forums by a Poster LILYFLO post # 308, she say's it best. It is not a mean post but a bit on the funny side. Check it out.

Sarah in yellow green and purple, amazing what one come up with blindfolded. But one has to love her for her effort of trying or not. Beside's that she dearly LOVES her children and her ex husband and that say's something. Love is more important then matching cloths. You go Sarah.

    1. @2:03, I am wondering, why does loving one's children and spouse has anything to do with having a horrible taste in the clothing department?

    2. Totally agree Cherry Blossom. I love my children and hubby too but this outfit on Sarah is all wrong. I like yellow and purple but that hat throws it all off.

People continually make comments about the personalities and actions of the other royals on this blog. Why shouldn't Anon 2:03 be allowed to do the same?

I couldn't agree more with the above comments. Actually this is almost like a joke. She is wearing ill-fitting clothes, nothing matches, her hair is a mess, and why in the world does she think that purple shoes look good with what she is wearing? I can't figure her out ever, and truthfully I am still always surprised to see her around the rest of the Royal Family.

To be fair yellow and purple usually go well together......usually. It's too bad the dress doesn't fit her well. I wish we had a better look at the sandals. They look like Tevas.

The queen looks very radiant. Lady Helen Taylor looks good too. Sarah is Sarah and she makes me smile. She maybe is terribly dressed but it’s one the reasons I find her so endearing.

Sarah's purple shoes are great. I wish she would have chosen a purple dress. It could have been great with the green accessories and she looks lovely in purple with her red hair. That being said, I think it is great to see her at Ascot with Andrew!

  17. *chuckles*... the hat of Sarah DoY is not bad at all, as is her clutch. But then there's the rest of her outfit, which is just badly pulled together. HM The Queen impeccable as always (I loved most her grey outfit embellished with gold she wore on Thurday!) and Lady Helen does a good job as well, except the sleeves which are too big and the orange thingy dangling on one side of her dress.

Her Majesty’s outfit is cheerful and elegant. I am impressed that she brought out four new hats this Ascot. Four different styles too. And I missed her wearing bright colours. Even if I appreciate the variety (and the ‘risks’ she took during the first three days). But the ostrich feather is the big surprise here. I don’t think she has worn a hat adorned like that in many years (except for the Garter hat, of course).

I love how lady Helen finds something on-trend and still appropriate often. I actually really enjoy her outfit overall, it’s Ascott after all, not a religious service. Way to go!

And then there’s Sarah. The colour combination is great and could have been amazing if she had chosen first of all the appropriate size. So much stark yellow needs some softer details though. Like a little flowery scarf that combines the purple, teal and yellow. It could have been fantastic! Maybe next year.

Unfortunately, poor Sarah has not told anyone how unfavorable the dress is for her. And then the colorful accessories. Is there no mirror at her home? And then her daughters also inherited the grotty fashion taste of her mother. Very sad........

Some day people have to look a bit harder for something positive.

  21. The Queen looks fantastic in this colour, great! I love Ascot, we see her and the family so often in so wonderful dresses.

Lady Helen Taylors dress is really lovely - when I ignore that red/orange 'thing'. I don't know what this should be, but without this, it's a fantastic outfit in a very nice colour and a beautiful hat with it, she looks great.

Sarah.. well.. I'm ok with the colour of the dress. I'm also not that bad with the shape of the dress itself, maybe a bit to casual, but I saw Pics where it looked really nice.
I'm ok with the colours of hat and handbag but I don't like, that the hat is not really a hat, it has open space on the head (sorry, can't say it better), I saw this on pics of her usual very deep curtsy. But what I really, really can't understand is, why she choose purple shoes with this outfit... yellow, petrol and purple, wth? She's not star of a circus..

btw: Andrew looked very handsome in his suit.

  22. The Queen looks fabulous, love the bright pink of hat and coat. Lady Helen looks very elegant minus the orangey red thing. Sarah I could almost have forgiven if it fitted properly- but it doesn't.

Sarah with uncovered arms. So, no Royal Enclose for her?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Look at her daughter Eugenie on her two Ascot appearances this year! Her arms were even more bared... the dress code for Royal Enclosure only says that Spaghetti straps (or no straps at all, as well as halternecks, or one-shoulder tops) are not allowed. Also no fascinators, or too small headbands, hats do have to have a minimum diameter of 10 centimetres. Knees should be covered or at last being touched by the seam. Allowed are jumpsuits and also pantsuits. Midriff needs to be covered as well. That's all.

    2. The dress has short sleeves which is all that is needed for the Royal Enclosure

  24. Contrary to other opinions: I like the colours of Sarahs outfit. Unfortunately she has no sense for the right size and these short sleeves are extremely unflattering for her. But who says that a pink flowing dress is more dressy , especially with an old-fashioned hat?

    1. Can't see what's especially old-fashioned about the hat.

C.B. Loving ones children has nothing to do with a bad fashion sense. What I meant to say is,that it is more important to see the kindness of the person then what she or he covers up with. How a person is towards others is way more impressive, then ill fitting and miss matched cloth. Sarah seems to be a warm and caring person. So I commented on her fashion which would be OK with other colors. But what she is a warmhearted person I can overlook her fashion flaws. I hope this will be more clear. Thank you for your reply.

In virtually every picture taken of Sarah shows her pointing the "G" on her purse towards the cameras. Obviously a payday.Wonder if the other pieces of the outfit are the same.
