  1. Scrumptious: dress, shoes, bag, hair in soft waves held with a simple but elegant clip -- a real home run. Very girly, kind of retro but nothing overdone. And what a sensational color.

    1. I agree mostly, isn't the whole a bit too glossy.

Decent look but the material is too shiny to look luxurious.

    1. I think the Queen looks stunning but I’m also not a fan of the shiny fabric.

Beautiful again. The dress is elegant and lovely. Another 5-Star day for Queen Maxima.

  5. Not my favorite, this dress has a definite punch and it screams attention, also the color is very flattering.... but the length gives it the typical skater's look, and the print reminds me of upholstery. Love the shoes, hair and makeup on point.

    Hi - first time poster...
I was in Dublin last night and saw them outside the theatre - the dress is striking, the colour really 'pops ' and it would be impossible to miss her in a crowd! I really liked it, she can carry some clothing others would never dare to wear. It's difficult to keep eyes off her - I only saw the back of poor WAs head since my eye was drawn to colourful Max! One of the first things I noticed was good hair, lots of make up......and her legs are fab-u-lous! Great to see her and W.A - and thanks to this site and your interesting comments or I wouldn't even have known who these two were - keep up the good work!

Hello and welcome. Thank you for your first hand account. It's very rare that we have a poster who actually sees a reported event (IRL) as it happens. Much appreciated.

  8. I prefer this outfit over her first from this visit. This time, I don't mind the stiff and shiny fabric. It seems to fit quite well, the length is better and the bright colour suits her very well. The cut is lovely, very ladylike! Also her hair in soft waves... well done!

You could tell that dress is Natan from outer space! It's stiff as a board and as shiny as aluminum.

    1. hi Anon 9.45. I am against criticising Natan on avery occasion. Current trends are using such materials (stiff, etc); provided they fit the one who wears it, it is ok. Today this is ok for Maxima. It may however well fit less ladies than traditional material.

I'm not against criticizing Natan because most of his clothes look like he forgot he was designing for a woman instead of a sofa.

  12. When I see these photos, the dress does not look any more shiny than, say, a nice cotton sateen. I wonder if the off-white portions of it might be creating an illusion of shininess for some.

Full agreement that it is a lovely outfit for Maxima and she looks great in it - head to toe.
Her personality and demeanour are in perfect sync with her style.

I also like Mrs. Higgins outfit and have been impressed with her style throughout this visit as well as on several other state visits we've seen.

    Well done to both ladies.

  14. Nice dress if a little short again. Everything else---shoes, bag, hair--- superb. I agree that Mrs Higgins outfits are all very flattering. Although this one is beige/cream it does suit her and looks smart.

Love this dress. Maxima is what she is a Queen. Great color on her. The earrings are not bad either. Mrs Higgins always looks good too.

  17. I like it very much even if it is shiny taffeta - but then I don't find it as jarring for an evening look. I love the retro cut and the colours are very Maxima. I suspect it doesn't photograph especially well and can imagine it looked better "in the flesh".
