Working visit of Dutch Queen Maxima to Ethiopia, 2nd day

Queen Maxima is making a two day working visit to Ethiopia in her role as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development upon the invitation of the country’s government. On the second day of her visit to Ethiopia, The Queen visited the National Bank and Belcash company in Addis Ababa. Belcash offers products that include a portable power supply with solar panels. Around 57% of Ethiopians have no mains electricity, which limits their development prospects.

  2. An interesting dress -- I think the mint green at the waist is meant to resemble a city skyline? Anyway, it fits well and is the perfect length.

    1. That's funny, I never thought about a skyline, and never read anything like that. But now you pointed this out, I can see what you mean! It could be, but I for one do not think it is really meant to be a skyline. But nice detail!
I like the dress too, very ladylike.

    2. Lol, the skyline interpretation is my wild guess :-) -- it's frustrating not to have a closer view of the print. I kind of hope it's actually botanical shapes, or even a random abstract pattern :-D

  3. I think this dress is much better without the necklace

Such a cute dress, such awful hair. What a difference from previous time when her hair was styled so nicely.

My opinion too. Why she doesn't make the slightest effort to style it, most of the time, is beyond my comprehension. If she were a 'nobody' she would be criticized a hell of a lot more than she is here.

Macims has very thin, fine hair which is also damaged from years of bleaching and styling. She struggles with styling it day to day and it only really looks good when she uses hairpieces and extensions.

She obviously doesn't want to but she needs to let go of the long hair and cut it off. Her hair would be a lot healthier, thicker and tidier.

  5. Didn't like the dress then, and even less this time. The gathering at the waist is very juvenile and so is the length, it reminds me of something a child would wear, also the color washes her out. The issue of the hair it's still a mystery to me, she appeared perfectly coiffed while at the fair in Spain in the flamenco dress, outdoors, possibly very hot and dusty, and then she doesn't style her hair for official visits?
BTW, there is a video that supposedly has been banned by the Royal House, showing the queen dancing "sevillanas" oh my! I have seen it. And this woman can dance, she is a natural.
