  1. The dress is awful but the Queen looks amazing! Love the pics holding hands. I never see such natural affection in William & Catherine of the UK.

...und dennoch scheinen sich Catherine und William zu lieben-ob mit oder ohne öffentliche „natural affection“.

I think Brits are just normally more well reserved...and both Will & Kate are Btits. Maxima is definitely more exuberant. I also think they purposely take pics trying to play up strife disconnect between them. Let's remember our perception is based on pics that professionals take. They're choosing the ones to share and keep. Just like the ones where I feel they make Kate look gaunt and overally skinny. Just a thought...

  7. The earrings do not seem right at all. More dots?? Otherwise, I kind of like the dress! It's great to see them so happy together.

@ Southernbelle: The Brits think it's not done for Royals to show affection, exception: Harry & Megan, but they are under heavy criticism for doing so. They forget we live in 2019.
Showing affection for each other: see the Royals from Belgium, Holland, Danemark, Sweden, Norway, Spain etc.

    1. You don't need to hold hands to show affection. There are so many photos of William and Catherine looking adoringly at each other or laughing at each other. Unless they are incredibly good actors, they are still crazy about each other. Ditto Mary and Fredrik and the Swedish royals. You will also often see William protectively putting his hand on her back as they walk along

    2. I would cross out Swedish royals from the list about sweet stories. Swedish press reports many unpleasant stories about king Karl-Gustav.

Two things we don't see very often: Willem-Alexander and Maxima holding hands in public AND someone who is taller than the Dutch king. I'm okay with both. Her dress, not so much.

Beautiful dress! Her hair is lovely on this occasion!
Like several others, Grace Kelly for one, she was not born into a royal family, but she always looks regal.

Not my taste but Maxima can carry it off. She even looks good in it.

  14. Never liked this dress, and the large jewelry only makes it worse. Great hair, however.
@ Southernbelle, I believe the British RH is rather strict on the protocol regardinding physical contact, I still remember the incredible faux-pas of the late President of Venezuela ((Hugo Chavez) when he attempted to bear hug the Queen, I think it took all her might not to smack him upside down the head :-) . I remember as well how the press went all crazy when Michelle Obama was photographed with her hand on the Sovereign's back. I don't think you can surmise any warmth or lack there off between william & Kate, just by the pictures, as I am positive that they are following strict rules, after all he will be king one day. On the other hand Queen Letizia is often criticized by her detractors because she seems to touch people a lot, and although the Spanish RH is way more relaxed on this subject, maybe because Spanish people tend to be more affectionate in public, there are always critics that would prefer that she would smile from ear to ear, but never reach out to touch anybody...
