    2. 😂😂😂 you're right. It is a bit Hollywood style for my taste and not english royal style.
I always feel when the two Duchesses are together Kate is always very understated and lets Meghan shine. If I compare her Missoni gown or any of her McQueen gowns with this one, well...

    6. I think this baby is a kicker. I actually saw a video of her belly moving dramatically as this baby kicked. She seems to be constantly trying to keep "in touch" to try to calm him/her.
This technique is supported by recent medical research.

It is very rude to laugh at a pregnant woman, if you don‘t know the reason, why she holds her stomach.

Laughing at someone's comment is not always a rude thing.

Nobody is laughing at Meghan because she is pregnant. I don't think it is rude to say that the baby isn't going anywhere, she has invited this sort of comment ever since it was announced that she was pregnant, constantly holding her hand(s) on her 'bump', which, by the way, I think it is very rude to call a baby in the making a bump.

The colour of Meghans dress corresponds with Harry's haircolour in an harmonious way.

The dress might be sleeveless and I *believe* (I could be mistaken) protocol here is no bare arms above the elbow or bare shoulders.
Also, she might be cold/chilly. With such a large group of people I suspect they would have the AC on (if there is one) or some other cooling mechanism to counter act all the body heat; and it is still winter. Two more weeks until Spring begins.

The Q always lovely. Pss Anne and Dss Camilla I feel are best dressed today.Dss Kate's dress a little too pale, maybe add some color but a very nice dress. Meghan's combo is beautiful, the brocade is stunning, but I feel she is overdressed. The men look great too.

  8. I really like Meghan's outfit today, lovely festive pattern, subdued with the never fail white coat, I think it would've looked much better with a couple of extra centimeters, but nevertheless she looks fabulous. I want to like Catherine's dress, but can't. I find it very meh, obviously it's my personal taste, not big on these romantic reminiscing dresses of the 1800's, not to say that she looks bad ( she never does :-)) just forgettable.

    1. I was laughing when I saw "That baby isn't going anywhere, Meghan." :-)

I agree the last month or 2 as the baby's kicking would hit the mommy and it hurt. However, Meghan has been doing this since the beginning. That's the reason why the phrase made by Anonymous March 5, 2019 at 8:19 PM is making us laugh....

    2. Many, many women do! It's completely normal with some pregnancies. They just aren't photographed! I mentioned above that this baby seems to be a kicker. I saw a video of him/her kicking (can't find it now) and Meghan's stomach was moving a lot. It can get overwhelming and you'll do anything to calm the kicking -- the easiest, most natural and completely appropriate is touch.

    3. I agree. Babies can kick quite hard, even though they are so tiny! My sister held her belly too; especially in the last two months of her pregnancy, it was very heavy. And look at the heels Meghan is wearing... props for nailing that!

      Delete
    4. So agree, Rosalyn! My heels went to the back of the closet in month #3! Also, many women feel overwhelmingly protective from the first about the growing fetus. I had a friend who spent nearly her entire pregnancy with hands on tummy--she was also older when she became pregnant, like Meghan.

  10. The brocade of Meghan's dress is gorgeous. I'm also partial to Anne's tartan suit--lovely colors on her. Interesting to see that Anne and Meghan are so similar in height.

  11. All the ladies look nice,i think Camilla and Anne are the winner, rich color and well fit dresses. I want to like Kate's dress but the color doesn't do anything for her, and i glad Meghan is wearing a more fitted dress for her pregnacy, probably a little too overdressed compare to the other ladies

  12. Usually I like Kates style much more than Meghans. But this time I really don't like Kates dress. It looks oldfashioned and boring in my eyes and 'does nothing for her'.

Meghan is dressed pretty, I really love that coat, it's a fabulous one.

The queen looks fab as always, I love this polkadot-dress and would love to see it without the jacket.
Sadly, Philip is absent :-( I hope he's doing well.

Camilla looks fab, too and it's great to see Anne laughing.

The Queen looks amazing - and Anne too. She has the same slim figure since ever now, and the same hairstyle...she should change the latter.

  14. My winners today are the oldies--Camilla and Anne. i love Camilla's dark green and Anne's outfit is so smart and suits her perfectly. I like the Queen's jacket but not the dress. I agree with Cherry Blossom and Anna B that I really want to like Kate's outfit but it's too colourless and staid--long sleeves, high neck, midi length. Meghan looks great (I try to whizz over the photos where she's grabbing the bump) and the coat has always looked good on her. The material of the dress may be luxurious but I don't think it does anything for her. Unfortunately, when I say the photo of her walking with Harry (5 from the end) I thought of an Easter egg!! It is great, though, to see them all looking so happy together

I also don't like the queen's dress, from what we ca see of it, it is blah. Polka dots or some same pattern is okay, just, for young women. Not saying that the queen shouldn't wear 'younger' clothing, that dress just doesn't look good on her and I guess not on anyone else.

  15. Meghan looks great. I usually love Kate’s style but I’m not loving this dress at all. It looks like a “church dress” from the 1980s. The style reminds me of the outfit she wore to Pippa’s wedding which I did not think suited her either.

    1. Kate does go too far sometimes with safe choices. I find her dress very matronly. It does take me right back to the 80s. With her coloring, she looks better in more vibrant colors as well.

    2. Oh come on, Anon 1.11. Almost every negative comment about Kate's dress (NOT Kate) on this occasion has been prefaced by "I usually like her style" or similar. I don't think it's fair to see it as a put down.

I don't think so, its just that Kate's dress is really horrible, she looks odd somehow and she usually dresses to suit her body but this dress just should have been reconsidered.

    4. Annon@1:11 AM, really?... I haven't seen any derogatory comments about Catherine on this site, fortunately this a community where most of the participants are respectful, in my opinion on the few occasions that people cross the line tends to be towards Meghan, whether she touches her belly, or her past or her spending habits, I don't see any of that about Catherine here. I don't like her dress, I don't like the style, and I don't like the way if fits her, see, I manage to say that without alluding to her personality or character.

      Delete
    5. Anon 1.11, I also think it is not a put down. A lot of people simply do not like Kate's dress; I didn't like the colour either and I'm a huge fan of Kate. No one here (for so far as I can see) is putting Kate down on her person or whatsoever. Just like Cherry Blossom said. It is not about Kate herself or her personality, but just people who have an opinion about her dress on this occasion. And luckily that is allowed! :-)

It would have been nice to see Prince Edward and Prince Andrew and their respective families at this celebration it is a little hollow as when Charles becomes King he will need their support as the Kent's, and the Glousters are all getting old. The Princess Royal Looks nice in her suit. The Queen looks very cheery and her suit is very smart. The brocade of Meghans dress looks a bit old fashioned and too Hollywwod. Camilla looks good. Kate looks a bit like Gone With the Wind.

    3. Yes, sad to see part of the Queen's family left out of this special celebration. With Princess Ann in attendance, it is hard to understand why the young sons are not present also.

    4. This was a reception in honour of the PoW. Of course, it required his presence, the presence of his wife, and the presence of his heir and spare, with their respectives wives, of course. No one else involved. The reason why Anne, Princess Royal had been present was that she was to accompany the Queen, as the DoE wasn't attending. As the second-eldest child of the Sovereign, it was her duty, so to speak, to be at her mother's side. She filled in for her absent father.

  20. A nice outing for the family. I think the Queen, Camilla and Meghan look great. The Queen is ready for spring.

I don't like Catherine's dress although I like the colour - it's a bit "librarian at a church picnic". Also, I think it needs a slip underneath.

Anne has an enviable figure - I don't think it has changed in 40+ years. But I think she looks like a British Caledonian air hostess in that tartan.

all the dresses are looking so elegant but IMO Duchess Kate has to watch out that her dresses don't look a little bit of elderly style. She is young and has wonderful hair and her smile is amazing but sometimes I think, her style is so contrary to her age: casual jeans, sneakers and jacket are looking so young and than almost a bit matronly high-necked dress . Sorry, I really like her, but some dresses are mehhhh. Meghan shines and she has this wonderful glow of a mum-to-be. Her hand always on her baby bump dosn't bother me. Lovley that she takes care and soothes her baby who is very active in her bump!

  22. I don't know what to think about this reception. Was there a dress code ? Meghan wears a "cocktail"dress and her coat is too long for the short dress. Kate looks like a grandmother. Her casual outfits are very nice and makes her look young. The queen is lovely here and I like Camilla too. But most of the women wear "afternoon" outfits except Meghan and Anne is dressed to go out for coffee or tea with a friend.

  25. While Catherine and Meghan's outfits couldn't be more different, I think both young women look really lovely! The only changes I would make would be a more flattering color on Catherine's dress (because I do think the very pale grey-blue washes her out), and a slightly longer length to Meghan's.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What’s happened to Kate? Lately her clothes are so old-fashioned. If she wants to demonstrate noble restraint, something goes wrong. She just looks boring.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, here's lot going on!
First, the comment about the baby not going anywhere, made me laugh too. Really funny without being mean, I like that! But further on, Meghan looks beautiful. The chic updo, lovely dress and shoes... it's all on point, very nice. Although, I would've skipped the coat.
Kate's dress is nice and totally her style but I agree that the colour is very pale and it washes her out. Imagine it in dark green or dark red, would've been a totally different look!
I like the purple blazer on the queen but not the dotted dress.
Anne is neat and classic as usual, love her smile.
The green coat looks very nice at Camilla, the colour suits her very much!
And a pity indeed that Philip couldn't make it to this reception for his eldest son!

I like both dresses for Duchesses Cambridge and Sussex. They are very beautiful. I would like to be as strong and robust as Her Majesty The Queen when I will be 95. Catherine will make a lovely queen when her time comes and Meghan is doing a valuable role as Duchess. I laughed about the baby not going anywhere too...

Love meghan’s look, would have love to see the dress without the coat, but overall loved her look.

I love Kate, I think she is a beautiful, vibrant woman, however lately am just bored by her look. We have seen this dress on her before in a multitude of colors, lengths, etc. its as if her stylist is picking up the phone to her various designers and saying remember the dress we ordered six months ago sent it in pink, blue ,white etc. why she always dressed like an old woman?
