King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit the EU institutions in Brussels

On March 5, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Brussels. The purpose of the visit is to get information on the work of the European Council, the Council of Ministers, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Swedish EU representation. The King and Queen began the first day in Brussels with a visit to Sweden's Permanent Representation to the European Union. The King and Queen were received by the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, in the afternoon. After the meeting with President Tusk, the King and Queen got a tour of the building.

What a beautiful suit on Silvia, especially the lapels and cuffs.

I like Queen Sylvia's suit;the Kings tie seems to match it nicely. I like the kings pose in the 2nd picture as he is looking up;it is as though he is thinking in his head;is this what the Swedish people are paying for, this level of grandeur; I can see why the Brits want to leave the EU.

    1. The EU institutions in Brussels and Luxemburg are much less grand compared to most of the royal palaces, or many Government buildings (such as Elysée Palace in Paris, or, would you believe it, the Palace of Westminster in London!). They are but one thing for sure: more modern. And that's about it.

I can assure you that the Swedish King is much smarter than thinking that Sweden or any European country, would be better off outside EU (Oil grossing Norway excepted) I guess time will tell.
I do agree; this is a perfect colour and style for the Queen. And the King looks good, as usual.

Why is she giving me toned down Alexis Carrington vibes ? She looks great though.

Many 1980's styles are coming back, whether we like it or not...
But I do think Silvia looks very nice here.

Heaven forbid! The fashion then was ghastly!

  5. We don't often see King Gustaf smiling, so the second photo is a treat. Queen Silvia looks gorgeous, as usual. Love the color and fit of her suit.
