  2. Meghan seems a bit shy on 1st pic but they are so beautiful and elegant!

  3. This Valentino dress is absolutely gorgeous! Exquisite! And Meghan wears it so well. Now this is the exact type of maternity dress Meghan should have been wearing as her pregnancy advanced -- not those form fitting dresses which outlined her growing bump sometimes even showing the outline of her navel. She has a lot of stamina for being so advanced in her pregnancy. After the just completed NY trip and two trans-Atlantic flights, she's already on a demanding three-day official visit to Morocco.

Awww, Meghan looks sooo beautiful and elegant. What a nice and lovely family.

  5. No form fitting pregnancy dresses in Morocco! Somebody must have insisted on that. She looks good in the loose dress. A few inches longer would have been perfect. Harry's suit does not match her dress. He would have looked better in a navy suit.

    1. This is a wonderful look for her and for the eyes of everyone else. I like the cape over the shoulders. It is a graceful way to add some pretty trim to an otherwise plain dress. The white one on the model is lovely, too, and is a clever alternative to a shawl.

This loose red dress is good choice to Morocco. Generally I like more fitting dress for pregnant women, but this looks quite nice. And I think the lenght is exactly good, being longer it would look like a tent.

  9. I think the cut and shape of the dress is fine. I just wish it were a different color. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the outfit was a cardinal's red robes, especially with the capelet feature.

    1. The red color is a sign of respect for the host country of Morocco. If you look up their flag you will see it is nearly all this particular red. It is considered a color of good omen and courage.

    2. Exactly right, Pine.

    3. Yes, while I understand that the duchess is paying homage to the Moroccan flag I just thought it was unfortunate that the color, combined with the capelet feature, was more reminiscent of a cardinal's robe. Perhaps if the dress was red sans the capelet or green, which is also a color featured on the flag, and is supposed to represent hope, joy, wisdom, peace, hope.

I'm a fan of the duchess but the evocation of a cardinal's red robes distracted me. This might be a reach but especially with the misgivings that have recently came to light.

    4. Well, now that you explain, I do see the connection you are talking about with the red cape feature. However, that did not come to my mind when I first saw this dress. I thought it was a fabulous look for Meghan, great with her pregnant figure, and respectful of the Moroccan flag. It's interesting how individual connections can affect the effect.

  10. I do not favor tent-like dresses for pregnant women, but I understand that you have to be sensible to the customs of your host country. Well done, she manages to be chic. This is a great look for her given the circumstances.

      It's not a tent dress. It's a trapeze.

      Delete
    2. @ Anonym. You can call it tent -like dress or trapeze or maternity.

      Delete
    3. @Anon 4:23 It is a matter of symantics. No matter what you want to call it, It is a loose fitting dress. I agree with Cherry Blossom. I prefer a more fitted dress as well, but she is respecting her host country. She does look beautiful. Red is gorgeous on her.

    4. Anonymous @4:23, the term tent dress, or mu-mu is a humorous way referring to shapeless wear, not a fashion qualifier :-) perhaps you don't use the term on your neck of the woods? On another note , it would be so refreshing if all the anonymous would use a name even at the end of your comment.

I'm with Cherry Blossom. I'm not crazy about the style of her outfit but she and Harry both look good and red suits her beautifully. I do like his grey/taupe suit and tie, but not how it looks 'blue' in the last photo.

  12. First of all I don't like the color, it is too strong color for her, the cape makes her shoulders look very wide and even if the dress is maternity dress it is much too big for her. It should show just a bit her pregnancy shape .

O vestido é elegante.According to Forbes before marriage Meghan had a weel-fulled bank account with a few millions salaries and well managed contracts.I do not know if it was her Harry or the fund that Charles gives each year to the two brothers for the respective womens who paid, but she was not homeless.

    2. Good point, Anonymous 12:42. Meghan came into this marriage with her own millions that she had earned herself from her acting. We really don't know who is paying for her every outfit.

The dress fits well and shows respect for the signature colour of the country. It looks like an adaptation of the style of dress of the local women. Harry, flawless, polished, even cute.

  18. Saw this briefly on the News last night but have only now seen the full beauty of the dress. I agree with the poster who said best pregnancy look so far--though if you count some of the "hardly pregnant" outfits from the Australia tour, there's a blue evening gown which was pretty spectacular. I adore the colour, the fit is smart and elegant ---and appears to have prevented the bump clutching! :-) The cape is spot on. She just looks gorgeous. Well done.

The King and Queen of Spain have just visited Morocco. It should have been a higher ranking member of the British Royal family visiting there;it is all to do with diplomacy. What is Harry wearing;he wasn't going to his mates club;suede shoes, and his wife is wearing a red dress and no stockings?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, please no more talk about stockings .

      Delete
    2. Why? He's perfectly high ranking - he's the younger son of the heir. The things they are doing align with their interests and patronages. And the British government asked them, not anyone else, to make the visit.

Can't see anything wrong with what Harry is wearing - looks like a suit and tie to me. As for the stockings, if Meghan doesn't wear them on a freezing day in the UK she's hardly going to bother in Morocco.

    3. LOL, Franny, re: stockings in the cold. So true. Meghan spent a significant part of her life in the far Northern US and then Canada. She isn't bothered by cold. Temperatures are comparatively mild in Morocco right now.

  23. I frankly don't care how much their dresses cost.
    1. We aren't sure what the "actual" price for these special customers is.
    2. Royals receive their stipend, and they spend it as they see fit, some in clothing, others in extravagant pleasures, as long as they don't incur in illegal schemes, they can budget as they please.
    3. If wealthy people didn't spend their monies on these fashion firms, they would cease to exist, maybe some would like that, but of course, that is a much more complicated debate.
    4. Regardless of whether the clothing is high or low end, they create jobs, from the creators of the textiles, to the seamstresses, to the sales people, to the delivery companies, and on and on.
    5. I will now get off my soap box.
    Good day

This dress is a dream. Meghan looks great. Her face is a bit fuller looks better , then overly thin, every hair in place and lovely makeup. She must have an easy pregnancy, glad for her. I do like Harry's suit, I wish he wore different color shoes, nothing wrong with the shoes but not together, like this,OMO.

  25. I definitely love it. The colour is wonderful on her skintone, the cut good and elegant and her hair is very nice too. Good job Meghan, also in quite much events in a advanced state of pregnancy, and still glowing and confident.
