  1. Catherine continues to look tired with the dark eye make up. The dress should be donated since the shiny fabric looks very 80’s.

    1. She looks lovely, just getting older thats all. i like her choice of colour it brightens up the event.

So Princess Anne, whats going on with the sports glasses! 😀

    2. I think it is rather the hairstyle of princess Anne which should be donated, if that were possible.

    3. She looks like old princess Margaret in this picture..

    4. I agree, MaryT. The older British royals do tend to get stuck in a rut, which makes it so much harder on the younger royals when they try anything new.

    5. Southernbelle. I agree.

  2. I agree for the make up .

  3. They all look relaxed and happy. Kate and Meghan look nice and appropriate. Anne and her husband look rather coordinated and it’s great to see Princess Alexandra. The Duchess of Gloucester’s earrings are yummy! Autumn and Peter Philips look amazing as does Zara and Beatrice. Might I say Peter looks very very handsome as do William and Harry. And Hi Philip.

  4. I've read somewhere that Catherine and Meghan have to change clothes five times during the whole lunch-procedure. I hope that is not true - what a distress...

    1. I heard it too. But they have to wear different outfits at Christmas Day (25th), not for yesterdays lunch.

    2. If it is part of the game, and the rules have been accepted.... why not. A remedy against dark sky, morosity etc. But all ladies should be on equal footing.

    3. I wonder what that's about. They seemed to be wearing the same clothes leaving as coming though.

    4. Katharine is right. The outfit changes are at Sandringham on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, not at this lunch in London.

    5. Changing clothes five times a day is only a requirement when being with HM The Queen at Sandringham House for Christmas. You wear something for breakfast, than change into something for church, after that going back for having lunch (different dress then in the house), for tea and finally something more glamorous for cocktails and dinner. The Christmas lunch at BP for most of the family is something entirely different and does not involve changing outfits.

    6. Everybody looks so nice. They cost the UK taxpayers 40 million pounds a year. I guess 5 different outfits are doable.

    7. I could be wrong but the 'five times in a day' thing is, I believe, on Christmas Day at Sandringham, from the time they make a public appearance at church to the final evening meal. Lots of smaller relaxed events happen on that day both indoors and out, requiring casual, special or smart casual wear in succession.

    8. This at Sandringham.....

    9. Yes, the rule makes much more sense at Sandringham on Dec 25th. I think I've mixed it up.

  5. I think Kate looks nice, the pink is good on her. She looks happy and relaxed. But indeed, the eye make up is still quite dark, that's a pity.
Meghan looks glowing and happy as well. Good to see the whole family complete.
Let us all wish them the very best and a happy Christmas, despite the odds!!

  6. According to other websites that are devoted only to Duchess Catherine and her fashion, Catherine is not wearing the shiny, pink Stella McCartney dress that she wore in 2011 to Prince Phillip's birthday dinner. Higher resolution photos show that this dress is a different shade of pink and is not that shiny. I think Catherine looks lovely in this shade and her hair and makeup are beautiful.

  7. The press really should lay off. This is a private affair, and, frankly, it's like the press is not only invading their private lives, it's also dangerous. Remember Princess Diana's fatal accident trying to evade the paparazzi?

    1. And yet, you are here looking at the pictures......
Maybe you don't realize that this is indeed a family affair, but traditionally published as a RF get together, nothing secret. I don't see anybody running and covering their faces, what I see is the invitees smiling and waiving to the press. Although paparazzi can be invasive and cruel, I don't think this is the case, IMO the comparison is absurd.

    2. Gabriella, I agree.

    3. The flashbulbs going off like lightening would be hard on some people, even if you prepared yourself. Some children with sensory issues cannot tolerate this at all. Granted they are not going on a high speed chase through a tunnel, but Anne is wearing sunglasses on a rainy day and some others look like they are squinting.
Another interesting thing is that there are other entrances to this palace. Not everyone comes in this way. It's almost as though certain guests are chosen to be seen and others can opt out of the glare, depending on the year.

    4. Royals are never private in public space. It is the negative about their status, but a part of it and accepted. The Danish Queen Margrethe has previously stated that in an interview with the press!
      Gabriella: … but you can't?

    5. Pine, I would dare say that if they didn't want to be seen they would organize the arrivals in a different way.
At this point I am sure they are used to the flashes, it goes with the job, and the monarchy knows that people like to follow them, that is why we are here talking about them. The comparison with Diana running away from the press in her private outings has nothing to do with this event, frankly I don't see that the photographers are doing anything reproachable in this particular occasion.

    6. Well, yes, Cherry Blossom, that was the point of the second part of my post. There are other entrances to the palace. Some people choose, or are chosen, to be seen arriving while others do not. It seems to depend on the year. The lunch is a large one with many, many more family members than are pictured here in these cars. I heard there are up to 100 attendees, but haven't researched so not exactly sure. Anyway, many more than went through this gate.
And I do hold that facing the sea of flashbulbs, no matter how accustomed you are, is challenging.

    7. Gabriella photos of the family arriving for Christmas lunch are nothing new.
The press have been taking pictures for years, even before Kate was a member of the family.
      Everyone is used to it.

  8. Christmas lunch once again. This time with a few new members to the family. Sadly we seen very few pics. Kate Zara and Autumn look very lovely. Pss Alexandra is always beautiful. Pss Anne is'nt about to smile come hell or high water, but that is her Trademark. Merry Christmas to them all and to the readers.

  9. My favourite ‘through the car window’ look is Autumn Phillips. She looks elegant and not ‘in your face’. Also, it appears she lost some weight (noticed this first at Eugenie’s wedding). She has a very pretty face anyway.

Kate’s top (or dress?) looks a little shinny. Never particularly liked those fabrics. Megan is hard to tell...

All look happy and that is all that matters!

  10. Autumn Phillips is a very beautiful woman and looks healthy and happy. Meghan's dress is a pretty winter floral look, worn before in 2016. The colors in the pattern are subdued and suit her. Catherine looks lovely--though I agree eye makeup could be lighter. I was amused by George's solemn little face while Charlotte was smiling and waving out the window.

    1. I watch the video clip of Meghan wearing the dress in 2016. She wasn't standing up, so I wasn't able to see the waistline, but I agree that it is a perfect winter floral.

  11. I fail to see the "dark makeup" she looks fantastic in my opinion, just a little thinner in the face which is a result of having lost the little extra weight from her pregnancy, I can't opine on the dress since all I see is the bow and color which I like. Meghan looks happy and healthy, and everybody else seems rather joyful, except Anne, but I think that is just that particular photo, as it's difficult to get an idea from just one snapshot.

  13. Well;they all look happy and cheery as they visit Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for lunch. The children's nanny looks as though she has been on the cooking sherry.

    1. Oh no, off with her head! I don't recall seeing any photo of her smiling, but then, poor thing, she sort of fades into the background, right?

    2. Gabriella, I thought exactly the same. The Nanny never looks like she has a job which brings her joy... But who knows...

I like the jewels of the Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra very much. And the Princess Royal could do so much more fashionwise, it's ridiculous. Where did she found the glasses? Zara Tindall could give her Mum a bit of advice. Princess Anne is slim, still has good hair, but she needs colour and a fresh style and would look much better and younger.

    3. Well actually, I stumbled upon some pictures taken during private time, walking with the dog, holidays, etc. And I was surprised to see how happy en joyous she looked. Laughing, playing and ragging with the kids. I found these photo's on Pinterest and was really happy to see the joy and love between the nanny and the children. I just think she takes her job very serious.

  14. Wish them all a merry Christmas and look forward to their presence at Sandringham. Does anybody know wether Jessica Mulroney is a stylist?

  15. Kate is always missing something for me. The fabric of the dress, the bow...just look such a bad taste for a young lady her age. And her make-up especially around the eyes does nothing for her. Anne looks badass. And Meghan well lovely, she glows.
