Grand Duke Henri and Alexandra attended a Christmas Concert

On December 13, 2018, Grand Duke Henri and Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg attended the 43rd SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde (SOS Children's Villages) Christmas Charity Concert held at Luxembourg Philharmonie. The concert brought together the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Venezuelan-Swiss conductor Domingo Hindoyan and German baritone Samuel Hasselhorn, winner of this year's Queen Elisabeth Competition. The concert was organized with EY Luxembourg. The revenue earned from this charity concert will be used in the development programmes set up by SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde in Senegal.

  1. There's something off about Alex's outfit for me; I can't quite place what I don't like. BUT, she's lovely and I love seeing her and Henri together. Ever since their Japan trip, I've hoped for more father/daughter outings. Yay!

    2. It’s a lovely outfit for a 70 year old since even her Mom would not wear it. She’s a lovely young woman but she needs a stylist to help her make choices that work better with her body type.

    3. I think that also the length of the trousers doesn't flatter her

  2. Pss Alexandra is a very lovely young women, but this outfit does nothing for her. The velvet jacket makes her older or something. The other two ladies look better sadly to say. Love her outing with her father.

    1. hm, any comparison with the two other ladies are out of place bearing in mind the difference of age. Having only few engagements so far, I think Alexandra did not think a lot about "her style". I also think young women have their style about casual or very casual dressing, but less about more formal dressing. The nicest ones in this respect is IMV princess Elisabeth of Belium and Ingrid ALexandra of Norway. At the other end I would place princess Louise of GB, unfortunately. From other princesses, eg the Monaco princesses anything can be expected. The length of trousers should not be taken in consideration, since so many different lengths are trendy. I did my best to stay more or less in the same age category, excluding the more teenager ones.

  3. She looks so pretty and seems to have taken a leaf from her mother's penchant for wearing interesting jackets over black. Maybe the pants are a bit short and she could wear some jewelry with color and size to show up with the fancy jacket.

    1. Yes, I think the length of the pants is a problem here, for sure.

  4. It’s interesting how Princess Alexandra has taken on a more public role. I think ever since Guillaume and Stephanie cut back their appearances to move to Londonn, the other, private, siblings have stepped, especially Alexandra as the sort of Second Lady of Land way.

  5. I think she is delightful, but I wish she would dress a bit more youthful, something with a little more colour and fitted style. She has a warm and inviting personality which can help her wear more exiting clothes. Admittedly, the women of Luxembourg tend to wear conservative dress, but she could get away with pushing that envelope I think.

  6. She is wearing her mothers clothes as Stephanie. That is why their clothes do not fit them
