Nice pic of Pss Madeleine and the children. Leonore and Nicolas are all for fun, Adrienne can take it or leave it. All four look nice and happy.

  2. I do not understand why she holds to the title of a princess. She does not live in Sweden, her children grow up in the states and she behaves like a celeb.

She is born to be a princess, she will never become a queen. Why should she stay in Sweden. She is free to do her own choices and she is still princess.

Because is Great-grandfather and grandfather were kings, and his father his king.As simple as that.

    3. She is the daughter of the King of Sweden (who has sisters who have lived abroad). Therefore, she IS a princess. And whether she and her family will be in the US indefinitely is yet to be decided. She is in Florida because of her husband's business. And as for behaving like a celeb, well just roam through Instagram and see the huge numbers of "ordinary" people who do behave like celebs! Madeleine's account is very subdued compared to many other Instagram users.

    4. In Sweden she and her family are slandered and persecuted.
I see perfectly why she doesn't want that for her kids. No support from her "royal" family either.
Hopefully she'll "resign", and leave it all behind.

    5. She is still a princess, because her father simply did not allow her, as she was supposed to do, to take all her titles at the wedding and just be Madeleine O'Neill.
The King of Sweden is unfortunately quite humorless and would never have given his consent to this marriage, if the result would have been that his daughter renounced her title and thus also her place in the throne. If she had enforced her wish, it would have come to a complete break with her parents and since she loves her parents so much, she has joined with a heavy heart.
But I am very sure that she will withdraw completely into private life as soon as her parents have died.

    6. She has said in interviews that she did consider giving up her title when she was getting married, but after much consideration decided that if she could use it in order to shine light on important matters than she would keep it. Right now she's being a full time mom which is something she missed as a child since her mom was a queen. And anyway, it doesn't effect anyone or anything negatively (possibly only her own life and "image" if anything, due to all the comments and demands) that she keeps her title so it really shouldn't matter. I believe she will increase her work load once her children are older. She is a little bit like princess Benedikte of Denmark who also lives abroad.

    7. Coralie, why do you care? She is not a fake princess like the so-called "Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece" where there is no crown anymore, and her very vapid daughter Maria-Olympia. I sort of can understand Constantine and Anne-Marie still being called (ex) king and queen, because they really held the tile, but the "Crown Prince and Princess"??? Let me laugh.....

Coralie, very weird comment. In what way she behave like a celeb? Why she should loose her title? Just because she lives in the States at the moment with her small children and husband?

@Coralie. Other royals live also out of their realm at times, why do you only pick on Pss Madeleine?

Very beautiful pictures, BTW. Simple and well done. Nothing celebrity about them!

Coralie, strange thing to say! The royal title is her birthright and even if she gave it up, she'd be still known as "Princess Madeleine of Sweden" no matter where she lives at the moment. Or you want to allege she's not her father's daughter??

    11. Gabriella, they are grown prince and princess because Pavlos was already crown prince when his father king went exile. In those situations everybody keeps the tittle they had, so Constantin is still king, Anne Marie queen, Pavlos crown prince and her wife went to be crown princess, Nikolaos and Philippos are princes and Alexia princess. Maria Olympia or their other kids will never be more than ordinary princess/prince.

And I miss updates of king Constantine, and his beautiful wife, Anne-Marie, Pavlos, and Marie Chantal, and Nicholas, and Tatiana. Has she got children yet, or?

She has the title of "princess" due to her father being the king. The title is not determined by where she lives or how others may think she behaves. I also wish she would stay in Sweden.

Beautiful and thematic pictures. Who would have thought that "party-princess" will settle down and have 3 kids. She seems content and happy with motherhood. And becomes even more beautiful as she gets older.

    1. I think it's the king who decides that, and all his descendants are given dukedoms as well as being princes or princesses.

  11. Having a title and apanage is comitted to work for it.Madeleine is not doing anything and her kids should not have had the titles they have now.Swedens king made a mistake there and now it is under the loop that titles should not be for relatives.

Madeleine is only paid from apanage when she works at courts official work events. So no work = no money from apanage and tax-payers!
Your comment makes it feel like Madeleine is less King's child, her chrildren less his grandchildren than her older siblings and their children. Its like she's just some poor and unwanted relative...

  14. There are no official payment list who tells us where apanaget goes to,but it is official that the king want to have more money every year, and to have apanage you need a title.Madeleine is a nice women and beautiful as well, but she married a man who said no to a title,so why the children should have titles when her parents do nothing for the monarkin.....well

Sorry but this is a wrong place to ask about the titles. Send your question to The King. But I think that as Princess Madeleine's children are the grandchildren of The King perhaps he wanted to treat all of his grandchildren equally? Hence theey all have gotten the titles [which is nice].
As far as I know titles and being everyday working royals are not requirements to maintain the titles. Madeleine's kids are small, why she's not allowed to be with them at home a little? Besides title does not automatically mean getting paid!!
Regarding the king wanting more money every year...i seriously doubt all or any of this money goes to Madeleine. She's the only one who has working husband who can support his family without tax-payers.
Additional money is probably for providing security in Sweden or haven't you seen security growing, e.g around Victoria and her family. Haven't seen any security man around Madeleine thought.

    2. This is so curious that only Swedish royal court gets so often to this money talk. I get a feeling that people think Swedish court is that one what is costing a lot to taxpayers. That is not the case really. They cost only £ 0,9 for inhabitant a year, that is less than cup of coffee costs. Still we go again and again to this same subject. My own country is republic, our president costs £ 4 per capita in normal year, election years every sixth year double that amount. So Swedish get IMO big royal visibility word wide very cheaply.

For example other royal houses: Luxembourg costs is £ 238, Norge £ 5, Monaco £ 1008 (no income tax but still). And discussion never goes to their cost, how much they work or who should be called princess.

Blondiini, agree with your comment 100%.
E.g. Luxembourg cost so much more money than Swedes but no one seem to complain here how much e.g Alexandra and Felix work on official duties. Yes, Felix and Claire have two little kids but so does Madeleine (her youngest only 8 months old). Once her kids are older, I'm sure she will return to her royal duties. I wish she could enjoy her motherhood at peace.
Besides title does not mean you get automatically paid. There are so many titled persons in Europe but that does not mean they are all rich and handsomely paid. I like it that Chris and Madde seem to raise their kids as normally as possible, so they could self-support themselves once they are adult.

    4. Anonymous; I do not think Madeline will work more, she never did even before getting kids. But I can live with that. But as you wrote never ever we get any comments how little Luxembourg royals work and they cost SO MUCH more than the Swedish ones. But we get to same conversation also with Carl Philip and Sofia, even when they do work today quite a bit.

  15. There is a different between Royal and President.
A President represent what the people voted for, royals are nothing more than show...some of them have a voice, but are not elected.
The Swedisk kings sisters children, although one parents has a title did not have a prince or princess titles.
Taxes, how small it is for a taxpayer, should only goes to royals who are WORKING....not for luxary and personal fun life. Some of these royals females only work under 70 days a year!
9-5 job not,but with so much help with speaches and at home it should be more days in public.

    1. You missed my point. If the whole royal family gets £ 0,90 I keep it very cheap what publicity they get compared to our rather unknown one person president what costs x almost six. Today royalls are not so much about voice power but publicity. That "show" is probably the best part of them, something you can never buy to presidents.

Also maybe you tell us how much Madeline and her family gets from taxpayers, what I have read is she gets public money only when she works and we all know she does not work, so how much she gets? Just a tittle does not pay anything. Or is her hubby paying the bills and you are just green of envy?

Also I cannot understand why female writers are so eager to see mothers of small children working more than full time. I have almost never seen anybody complaining how little royal duties male royals do. Also when women get old there seems to be more mercy but when the kids are very small it is the same whistle to most of them.
