King Philippe's and Queen Mathilde's visit to Vienna, Austria

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Vienna, the capital of Austria to attend the opening of the "Unique Bruegel" exhibition at the Art History Museum in Vienna. On October 1, 2018, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were welcomed by President Alexander Van der Bellen of Austria and his wife Doris Schmidauer with a state ceremony held at the Hofburg Presidential Palace. To mark the 450th anniversary of the death of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, the Art History Museum of Vienna is showing the world's first major monographic exhibition on the work of this exceptional artist.

Lovely colour on Mathilde. Very chic. I agree, Vienna is such a grandiose city. Would like to pick up one, or two, of those pastries on the table!

  4. Beautiful dress, love the color but unfortunately it's too tight across her midsection like lots of other dresses she wears.

    1. You are absolutely right. It should fit like the model's dress does so it doesn't pull.

    2. too tight yes, well Qn Mathilde has taken some weight, either the dress should fit better or she has to go for other models.

  6. Lovely dress- love the colour and the style plus the accessories. I do think it's a bit tight across the midriff. Her hair looks great here.

Mathilde looks good in the emerald green. I like the neckline design and length of the dress. However, Mathilde is quite short-waisted and the belt cuts her dress up too much and makes her stomach appear larger than it is. This dress would have been so much better without a belt and just straight.

  9. fantastic dress, fantastic colour.
I think, Natan has a lot of fantastic dresses and designs. chic, special but still grounded enough.

The hatpiece is ok, not my favourite, I would have preferred another kind of hatpiece.

  10. Absolutely LOVE the hat, the dress's pretty shoulder treatment and the general coordination of the look...but the dress is too tight and would be much more flattering if the fit were more relaxed. But honestly it seems as though Queen Mathilde can't help looking adorable, no matter what she wears!

    1. Interesting comment on the belt. I can see what you mean. Good point. Still absolutely lovely, my favourite royal. Never saw her fussy. Always with the kindest countenance. For me, even if outfit/hair aren’t perfect, I totally forget about that because of her smile, soft démener
