Countess of Wessex visited Daniel Department Store in Windsor

On September 17, 2018, Sophie, Countess of Wessex visited Daniel Department Store in Windsor, England. The Countess took a tour of the lingerie department of Daniel of Windsor, which has traded in the town, close to the castle, for 100 years. Daniel has a long history with the royal family and was awarded with a Royal Warrant from the Queen as a supplier of gifts to the royal household. (Countess of Wessex wore a floral-print dress by Suzannah, which she had worn before.)

  1. I like her hair. It looks more youthful than when she wears it up. Dress looks great too.

Tired of floral dresses but this one looks very pretty - lovely print and flattering design 🌸🌸🌸

  4. This look is really good for Sophie. Her hair worn down is very flattering, it softens her features and is very feminine. The length is good and it’s healthy. The dress is pretty and I much prefer these quarter length sleeves to the shorter ones she often wears. And the clutch is big enough to carry more than a folded tissue!

    1. Agree, although Viktoria is 12 years younger. Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg also gets negative comments, all the time.

If Victoria wore her hair down and her floral dresses were knee-length and not so full, I would be the first to complement her look. Sophie (like Victoria) looks younger with her hair down and better when her clothes flatter her figure and do not overwhelm it.

It would be great if Princess Victoria wore this kind of flattering dresses.
Instead Victoria's dresses are frilly, midi length, high neck, often look too big for her or their style make her look heavier. Add her severe flat hairstyle. Countess of Wessex is older than Victoria but she looks/dresses more youthful.

Have we seen Victoria wearing dress that is flattering, has unique charm and versatility? Also Victoria's flat and tight hairstyles ruin most of her looks for me.
I've stopped commenting on Victoria's style because I know there's people who like her style (when I have nothing positive/good to say, I better say nothing).
From your comment I assume you do not like this Suzannah Marigold tea dress?

    5. I do like the Suzannah floral dress (as far as I still like floral dresses) but honestly the dress worn by Victoria on 13/09 here below (Swedish institute event) suits her just as well as the one we are discussing today. Basically I like rather short dresses but i admit that sometimes a few centimeters longer improve the general look because better balanced.
Remains the hair style yes, but Victoria seems to stick to a hairstyle which allows her to be ok at any time without too much time spent on it, even if it is not the most flattering one. We cannot blame her for that, she can decide for herself. She knows she is appreciated in her country with her style.

Many in her country do appreciate her. But also wish, from a fashion perspective, that her hairstyle would reflect her age. "Bun" hair is more severe and older looking. There is no blame, just opinions that we have.

For the Swedish institute event you referred she wore another one of those old-fashioned and matronly dresses. It looked especially bad when teamed with her usual flatly slicked back hair. Her hair-style requires diferent style of clothes!
Shorter sleeves and knee length, different neckline could have saved it but with that busy print this style was too much. She already own dozens of this kind of dresses why add another one? Sorry not fan.

  16. Great look for Sophie. But someone please releave us from the dictatorship of floral dresses. Too many! Regardless of length, cut, fabric, colour.... way too many. I will even take animal prints. So long as it doesn’t become another obsession.

I like the hair style, but sort of wish she had kept her individuality. Not she has the same cut as 90% of all women.

Yes, her hair is nice but like so many others. I wish she would cut and style her hair the way she did when she married Edward. It was so young and fresh looking.
