Only the first (white) outfit gets my thumbs up, what little of it we can see. She on the other hand, looks beautiful in all the photos.

  3. Gaaah! I wanna brush her hair. Just let me run a brush through it once. (Maybe twice.). I like the length, the highlights...it just needs a brush.

This is a stunningly beautiful woman whose shoulders do not -- do NOT -- need emphasizing. That is why a couple of these photos look a little scary.

  5. Very stylised pictures. I like the designs very much - they suit her, and I especially like the ruffled, messy hair.

She's done several magazine interviews and spreads relatively recently. It might be nice to actually see her at an engagement soon...

    1. If the photo shoot took place in SA she has several charity organisations in SA. Ist that engagemen?

      Delete
    2. So where were the pictures of the engagements she undertook? So, no, IMO, having charity organisations is not the same as actually making public appearances on their behalf. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing her a bit more in Monaco, which last time I looked, is the country of which she is actually a princess.

She is beautiful and perfect - as always. But there is no warmth or passion in the pictures. She looks very stiff.

    2. Agree with you. She is target for a certain people at yhis block. Always negative. Hit out at the princess is it because she is from Africa and snobs on this blig tearing her apart.

I meant that she loks stiff on these pictures, and there's a whole team behind the camera so it's not her fault alone. I have never written a comment on this blog before and I don't have any negative feelings against princess Charlene as a person.

    4. Am I one of the snobs you're referring to? It is possible for people to have an opinion that differs from yours and not actually be a snob...

I have absolutely no feeling about Charlene being from Africa - having been born there myself. However, I would like to see her out and about a bit more - not least because I think she is very daring and stylish in her fashion choices and would like to see more of her.

I will admit I do find her attitude to her role as Princess of Monaco somewhat puzzling at times - it doesn't stop me appreciating these photos.

I'm getting a bit fed up with people attacking other posters because they don't think their favourite royal is always amazing. There's no need to be nasty or unkind but I think we should be able to be honest without being accused of being snobs, discriminatory or "negative".

    5. Agree with you Franny. I've noticed too if you have an opinion on this blog that is not fawning over other posters favourites it's as if it's a personal attack. Everyone is allowed to voice their opinions as they see fit. I think these photos of Charlene are way too staged.

    6. You can have opinion but there are people that is just waiting like hawks for the marriage of Princess Charlene and Prince Albert must fail just to say I told you so. The bashing of the princess is unfair and shocking. Their are crown princesses whose dresses look awful but on this blog singing their praises.

    7. Liking or not liking clothes is subjective - maybe the people actually like some of the clothes that you find awful?

I haven't seen anything that looks particularly like bashing in these comments.

    8. Anne-Marie where on earth you get these ideas? I do not remember anybody ever say anything negative about her origin in Africa? Also waiting their marriage to fail??? Really??? There was definitely big problems at the beginning but they both have been looking a happy couple years now.

  8. I only like the ones where she is attempting to smile 😞 a touch of color would have been great.

  13. Very staged photos. No real warm expression. Eyes are not smiling, rather hiding. And sorry, I find these pursed lips that are meant to look mystique or sexy or whatever look just stupid.

I agree with Beth and I feel sorry that such a natural beauty felt that she had to do all these interventions. The picture in the white jumper is the best, or maybe it is just because I love the jumper? ;-)

  16. The photos are obviously beautiful, but they are typical fashion shots. They focus on the look/style rather than on the person. I agree that they lack warmth, and that´s partly due to the lack of colour. I think that was intentional - to make it all look cool and nonchalant.

    1. I think she's showcasing the work of South African designers. I agree the photos are very deliberately styled for a certain look - I like them, I think she looks good and I do like the outfits.

She is probably perfect from a stylish point of view, and I don't think she needs any hair brushing for this casting. I think I like almost all these dresses. I regret however that (according to my memory) we have never seen her wearing them for an official occasion, which gives me the impression she is more interested in appearing as a star, rather than fulfilling her job as a princess.

  19. I think Princess Charlenne looks gorgeous, but I see these pictures a bit artificial, without warmth. I'd rather prefer seeing princess Charlenne working as a Princess of Monaco.

  21. Wow, what a stunningly beautiful princess! Fashionwise, I love the white jersey dress and the dramatic black evening dress on the cover of Rooi Rose magazine. Princess Charlene truly has the ability and the confidence to make any outfit look good.

  22. Elle est princesse pas star de cinéma ce qui me dérange dans ces belles photos...

  23. Maybe I'm "off" here but I just don't think a Royal princess (particularly since her husband is in effect the reigning monarch in Monaco) should pose for a fashion shoot. She should be above that. She is a spectacular fashion figure and has endless official occasions to showcase her figure, carriage and clothes.

    1. They've always done things a bit differently in Monaco. Princess Caroline used to do similar shoots with very prestigious fashion photographers and sometimes they were accompanied by interviews. It would be interesting to see if there is an interview if anyone can actually get a copy of the magazine.

I have the magazine, the article written in Afrikaans. It is a lovely long interview with princess Charlene talking about her life. There was also an insert on our local TV about the photoshoot. My impression after reading the article and watching her on TV, was that she is absolutely stunning, friendly and spontaneous. The clothes are by South African designers.

    3. Great - would be lovely to read. I know a couple of people who have met her a few times. She's very warm and friendly with a great sense of humour apparently.

  24. Princess Charlene is a beautiful women. She is not used to pose like a
catwalk model and I guess she would have never chose to be a catwalk model.
IMO "Roiroose-1" is the only pic where she is looking a bit relaxed.

  26. Very well executed and photoshopped fashion pics. But also pics without any feelings and warmth, what must have been of course also purpose. Last pic looks divine.

  27. Schwarz sollte die Fürstin weglassen - ausser bei bestimmten Anlässen natürlich ! Helle bes. weiss und kräftige Farben stehen ihr einfach besser !!

  28. She is not posing like this when she is on duty. It's a photoshooting. She always looks kind and warm when on duty. She a little shy so it may be seen as she is snob.
