حذفHeather, I think her outfit is a concession to the Saudi hosts. One can see that she wears the headscarf only on the back of her head. To me that seems like a compromise between the traditional attitude of the Saudis and her own modern life.

For the women in saudi arabia it would have been a good sign if Rania didn't wear a headscarf.

in most cases a headscarf is still a sign of forcing women (can't explain it better in english, hope you understand). For many women it's not a free choice.

حذفI realize she is in a delicate position by not wanting to be controversial but it's certainly ironic that she is talking about "change" while taking a backward step and wearing a headcovering she normally doesn't wear. But Coralie is correct - she is barely covering her hair!

We can see that she is not at ease, that she is making a compromise. She can not ask them to take it off entirely. As diplomatic as can be. Certainly in a delicate position.
