    1. If I understood that correctly, she is sending out a clear message: this is Japan! Japanese probably knew this but I am not sure they like such a profusion of seudo-kimonos. It is like going to Holland and… clogs for any occasion. ¡Be yourself! people respond to and respect that.

  2. This must be exhausting. Mary and Fred work hard. Love her dress. She always strikes the right note.

  3. Why on earth does she wears clothes whit flowers all the time?
She is trying to much having a geisha look, and that is not alright in such a modern country.Awful behaviour

  5. Glad to see Masako, who looks lovely and professional. Mary....well, she has been perfect until this pajama outfit. Love her aquamarine jewelry.

    1. Masako is elegant but I find the ever-present pearls boring. It must be the culture of the country, because every Japanese 'royal' woman always wears pearls.

  6. Yes, pajama outfit indeed...to go with the bathrobe look a few days ago.
I think it's mildly insulting to keep referencing some vague idea of traditional Japanese themes or dress.

    1. I think so too. Masako looks way more professional.
I wonder what people would feel if the Japanese ladies showed up in a bunad in Norway or in a dirndl in Germany or in kaftan in Jordan.

  8. Mmm I'm not a fan of this outfit or the bathrobe she wore the other day. In my opinion I think it is verging on embarrassing for the Danish Royal family. You can show your 'admiration' for the Japanese in other ways. It's a bit over the top for me.

  9. When she was seated I thought it was a dress and I thought it would be gorgeous as I love the contrast between the black and the purple flowers. Disappointed to see it was a loose pant suit. Fabric is lovely, but the pants and the top together just don't work for me. Her hair and make up are very elegant though

  10. I don’t have a problem with Mary’s clothes. But I do have an issue with the height of her shoes. Surely there must be some consideration given to the height of your hosts. If they shorter than you, then lower the height of your heels. Too many royal women wear ridiculously high heels.

  11. And again she wears something that doesn't fit - her soul ang style. First fabulous Vanishenko dress and now this. This ensemble isn't bad at all, it looks beautiful on the model but there is no Mary in it and plus it's not ment to be wear on a State visit. This wasn't her choice.
