    2. I think it is great that she is not all dressed up, though it is fun to see "royalty" all dolled up. Stephanie does not care about clothes or really about being a Princess. She was here and photographed because of this very cool thing done to honor her beloved father.
Appalling? No. She just has different priorities. If we all showed our faces every day, would we look perfect? No. Stephanie has thinner hair, like her sweet beautiful Mama, and like Grace always did when she was young (and in private times, even as Princess of Monaco), has just pulled it off of her face into a ponytail.

  2. Gee Stephanie really dressed for the occasion didn't she? I'd get dressed up more for a shopping trip

    1. Prince Radu's mother recently passed away so they are in mourning.

    2. Now see, we have people assuming a negative thing, & finally someone asks why they are dressed this way. We find that Price Radu has lost his father! I am certain that Stephanie is very mindful of this, she was extremely close to her own father, and is surely showing respect. Also, she is just not "into" clothing. People are always shocked to find that Princess Grace was the exact same way.... but I would love to share my many stories about Grace, but I do not even know if my comments will be placed here. Grace was my cousin and I researched her life for over 20 years. So I guess I will wait and see what the Blog owner chooses to do - either way, thank you very much for sharing the photos from this day - I know it mean a lot to all three of the late Prince Rainier's children. He was such a shy, private man so most people do not know a lot about him, but this is so cool! Thank you again for sharing the photos and information about the day.

  5. They unveiled a memorial statue of Prince Rainier yesterday. Maybe it is a more solemnly themed trip than a visit for a wedding or a baptism, etc.

  6. That dress is more a stay-at-home-dress ..

    1. Now I have to go check, was it his Mother or Father? The day seemed very private, very intimate, which would be correct after such a loss.

  8. Actually I like everything from the top of her sweater to the soles of her shoes - perfect for a walk in the park or a lunch with a close friend! Hair does need a lot of help.

    1. I wrote a detailed answer to your question, but hit the wrong key and signed out, and lost my post. If you would like me to write it again, I will.
There is an answer, and I think you intended perhaps to write "glitz" and glamour rather than "bliss". Bliss is "a state of perfect happiness" and glitz is about "an extravagant but superficial display")

Short answer? Monaco is glitz and glamour indeed - but that is Monaco, not always the princely family. I am happy to add more if there is interest.

  13. I agree with the above comments. Princess Stephanie is after all representing her country on a state visit.

    1. This is a private occasion, she was dressed a bit better at the inauguration.

    2. She wears a long coat to the outdoors inauguration and a red blouse but otherwise it is the same shoes, black pants and still the ponytail. She has probably only brought hand luggage with her to Romania.

  14. I see nothing wrong with the outfit - it's not high fashion but it serves its purpose, is practical and acknowledges that the Romanian royals are in mourning.

I wish she would wear her hair in a slightly more flattering style but she obviously finds this works for her.

Her priorities have obviously changed since the 80s - hardly surprising really.

  15. Personally I think Stephanie didn't aged so well, time has not kind to her but besides that I believe that if she had wore a silk scarf, a nice purse, and another pair of shoes the outfits wouldn't look so casual and she would have still looks elegant.

  16. Peu importe la raison de cette visite ,la princesse Stéphanie se manque de respect à elle même par cette tenue trés négligée

  17. A styleless and tasteless non-royal is visiting non-royals. Why is this news on a royal fashion blog?

Is she wearing a paper shoppingbag on picture five? Wow, I am impressed.

    1. She may not strictly be royal but she IS a princess of a ruling family on an official visit to Romania. The main purpose of the visit was the unveiling of the statue of her father not a visit to members of the Romanian Royal Family - who may have no legal standing but do live there and do fulfill official functions with the approbation of the government that doesn't recognise them.

Presumably, she is on this blog for the same reason her older sister appears on here or her sister-in-law. She certainly didn't appear to make much effort style wise IMO but taste and style are subjective anyway.
