@ Chelsea, I am asking myself the same questions for a long time now, who on earth is selling this to her?? She must buy it somewhere, directly at the designer or in a good shop, that sells expensive brands and evening gowns. There is usually a fitting before you buy. When a famous client steps in, there is normally the designer or the shop owner themselves there to serve their client and to advice her on the best size, cut and color. They would do everything to make their client look good. At least that's what you would think.
حذفSo, this stays a mystery to me. Where does she buy? Who sells that to her? Same for the hair. You would think before a gala event, she would have a hairstylist come in. Or does she do hair and makeup herself and than just tuck a tiara on top, no matter what? it looks like it.
Does she not have one single good lady friend who would talk openly to her? And Haakon? Does he not see it, that his wife wears so often the wrong clothes, or he does not care, which would be strange in his position or he is blindly in love and would never raise a word against her? This seems all so strange and is beyond my own life experience. I start to get embarrassing feelings about all that and somehow don't want to look or comment on pictures from the norwegian royal family anymore.
I wonder how is the reception of the royal family in norwegian media, especially how are Haakon and Mette-Marit looked at. Does enybody know this?

ردحذفMM doesn't have a traditional sense of fashion in my opinion, it tends to be a little bohemian, but this gown isn't even bohemian, it is horrible. I don't like the colours, the material or the style.

حذفI don´t know. It´s not a terrible dress as in shocking or inappropriate - it´s just so lame. And so wrong for her. This dress gives me three different vibes: girlish, summer, nighty (or bed linen?) - non of which are what she should be after to look like. If the dress had an interesting neckline (to make it less girly) and a proper fit (to make it less nighty-like), or a different colour (to make it less summer-y)... Then maybe? I don´t mind the silhouette, or the stripes, not even the yellow colour as such, but please Mette-Marit - you are the crown princess of your country! You are in your fourties! This is one of the most formal occasions to attend! You have the ressources to choose almost anything (and/or get help to do so). And you come up with this???? I´m puzzled.

No it looks more like curtains of summer cottage. Maybe they needed new curtains and MM invented this desperate dress to get rid of old ones. Untidy hair increases the failure of this appearance.
