  1. Ugh for the dress, or is it a coat dress ? Dark grey is definitely not her color. And with brown bag & shoes, what a mismatch. Love the Musee d'Orsay though.....

    1. She better should have borrowed that lovely little Chanel-thing from CP Victoria of Sweden a few days ago. THAT is Chanel to me. This one here looks so old and boring for a young woman. Those sleeves.. Some typical white pearls maybe?
Am I right, there is no touch today between the couple? Great picture with the clock in front of them.
But Red! is her color (with the coat)... But William?

  3. This dress is just ugly and her worst choice so far.

  5. Bravo on wearing Chanel & Cartier. Wonderful way to honor France.

  6. Ha!😅 Isn't interesting how different we see things. I think this dress is beautiful! One of the best I have seen on Catherine. She wears it much better than the model, it plays around her slim frame and with the belt and the A-line pleaded skirt she looks much more feminine. Even these trumpet style sleeves look good on her and have the right length, while they are too long on the model. Skirt has the perfect length, just 2-3 cm above the knee to show her beautiful legs. Last picture next to the model is just gorgeous. Beautiful light make up, beautiful smile. Yep! I am a fan of this! Not so much the accessiores. And I like how the colors match with Williams suit and tie.

    1. Beth, it is always a pleasure to read your comments. Obviously you know a lot about fashion. I know nothing about it, I just like to look at pictures of well-dressed ladies. So I benefit from your knowledge.

    2. Totally agree. It is beautiful.

    3. Je suis d'accord avec vous Beth. Lumineuse duchesse Catherine rendant visite à la tout aussi lumineuse Tour Eiffel. La rencontre de deux belles dames. J'adore Paris.

    4. The different opinions on this blog are as entertaining as the clothes to me! And I do love this ensemble. Great colors for Catherine and the fabric and jewelry just get better the closer you look. Sophisticated and a bit lighthearted at the same time.

    5. Totally agree with Beth. What a great silhouette, and while the colours are subdued, the fabric is very rich and interesting. Perfect for the season. And this dress is by far the best take on the flared sleeve thing I´ve seen so far (and I was getting pretty tired of it actually).
I´m not wild about the shoes, but I like the colour.
The one thing that I positively don´t like is the belt - both because it´s too much in-your-face chanel and because it´s sitting too high and curving up over her belly.

    6. Absolutely agree, Beth! The Chanel looks amazing on her as her slim frame allows her to carry off this style and pattern (she looks infinitely better in it than the model!!).
I wondered at first about the brown accessories but I see the dress has a bit of brown in the pattern.
She looks lovely in all the outfits,

  7. Beautiful, rich material mixture of colors, blue, navy, pink, green and a touch of red. Burgundy shoes and Chanel handbag compliment this beautiful dress/coat dress the very stylish Duchess was wearing on the second day in the city of light. What a stunning photo of the Duke and Duchess with the Eifel Tower forms the back drop.

  8. Who called it yesterday asking for a Chanel suit? You got your wish! I like it but don't like the black/grey/white combo.

    1. That was me (I think)! It's not quite a suit, but I'll take it!

  9. I can see the brown being a more berry-brown matching the plum colors in her outfit, but I wish she'd worn a similar colored belt. Would've unified the look more.

  10. I am so glad she wore Chanel! It's not my absolute favorite look, but it is both Chanel and quintessentially Kate, so it's perfect.

The Cartier earrings and pendant are gorgeous also!

  12. Another great appearance! This Chanel coat is wonderful, litlle different style as we are used to see on Kate. She looks young, modern, elegant.

  13. Les français sont heureux et honorés d'avoir accueilli le duc et la duchesse sur leur sol ! Je note l'ensemble et le sac Chanel de Kate ; un choix plein de sens et de délicatesse. Revenez vite nous voir !

  14. I like the dress but Kate is not wearing it right. She should wear a big string of pearls with it and sexy high heels.

  16. This ensemble reminded me of Diana, Princess of Wales' first official visit to Paris. At the time, her Chanel coat dress and shoulder bag got a lot of attention because it was Diana's first departure from exclusively wearing British designers. I wonder if Kate, like Diana, wanted to pay homage to France with her selection of Chanel but also to honor her late mother-in-law as well. The look really works and I love the subtle reference as well.

  17. Lately Chanel's style has not been to my liking but this dress/coat looks actually very beautiful and suits her perfectly.
And can you believe it that on Catherine this outfit looks so much better than on a model??

    1. Looks great on her and fit is perfect! Model needed to take one thing off before she left the house (thanks Coco) but this is how Chanel styles lately=(

  19. This is when you remember how affectionate Diana was. She would have hugged that gentleman in the wheelchair and shown genuine interest. Katherine looks disinterested...

    1. I don't know Black Alien Musings ~ many people who have been traumatized do not like to be touched. Their fear continues even when they know they are safe. I have seen Catherine kneel down many times and touch or hug. Adults and children. Maybe they were told to not rush up and maintain some space. In my field we train ppl to not assume everyone wants a hug.

I think they are taking in how horrible it was for them. We wouldn't want them laughing and joking around. JMHO

  20. With the red coat the Duchess honor not only the Welsh team, but also their host. The Duchess looked stunning in red. Beautiful interaction photos of the Duke and Duchess during the match.

    1. Anna-Marie, you certainly mean "no interaction" at all!? Ha ha! One does not need to be a psychologist to analyze the pictures. It is just with the kids when they look a little bit relaxed...

    2. rainha leonor, you seem to forget the cultural differences between countries. Not everybody in the world like to be affectionate in public .... and the BRF never showed affection in public.

  21. I like Kate's dress, although I feel it should have been longer, the shoes are nice, but I do not like the handbag it looks twee not elegant in my opinion.

The red coat is nice, although nothing special and unfortunately Kate's hair looks very ordinary.

  22. Very smart politics n reps for UK! I couldn't understand d CC bag, then saw on d news they were there for Brexit n relations ... Ahhh, smart! CC outfit too, which on TV really looks nice!

  24. It doesn't even look like the same dress, if I had only seen the picture of the model I would have run away from that dress, but with the alterations, the princess looks fabulous. This dress looks chic, different and trendy.
Love the shoes, the bag not do much.
