  1. I think the woman next to Letizia is better dressed. But I like Letizia's hairstyle.

    1. I think she was letting the diamonds do the talking💎💎💎 that bracelet is to die for and that tiara is huge! Ms. Awada's dress is perfect for the event and doesn't need jewels to carry it.

  2. I think the tiara is way too big for Letizias petite head.

The wife or Argentina's President looks great. Next to her queen Letizia doesn't look so good, the tiara is way too big for her head, and the blue sash is way too large, the black dress doesn't do anything for her.

    1. The sash is not a fashion complement, but belongs to the Orden del Libertador San Martín, an argentinian Order awarded to the queen by the President of Argentina and its colours and width are what they are. Ms Juliana Awada wears the sash of the Orden de Isabel la Católica.

  4. Omg we have a tiara! She looks wonderful! It is big but just go BIG Letizia! We do not get to see the jewels much!

    1. I agree with you Diana; finally she s wearing the Ansorena tiara and who cares if its big! I like to see her with more bling from the royal house jewels

    2. Such a great, and welcome, surprise to see her wearing a tiara, and such an amazing one. Okay, it's big but it looks lovely on her. If you don't wear the Royal jewels often why not go big! The sparkle is in the jewels rather than in the dress.
I wish the sash had been narrower but as she was obliged to wear it she made the best of it with a minimal look in the dress.

  5. Letizia looks amazing! She is wearing 'La Buena', the tiara of the spanish queens, and she looks like A QUEEN.

Juliana Awada 1 Letizia 0

    1. "La quincaillerie" is the Flor de Lis tiara, that Queen Victoria Eugenia received as a gift from her husband King Alfonso XIII on her wedding day. It is personal property of the spanish royal family and Queen Sofia has worn it many times. The black, simple dress designed to mettre en valeur such big gun of a jewel is a detail of exquisite good taste.

  7. In the 6th picture (head shot) Letizia looks exquisite. This tiara (the Ansorena?) is amazing. I like that she wore a dress that does not compete with it in any way and is a luxurious backdrop. The other lady's gown is lovely but there is no doubt about who is the Queen.

    1. So true. But there are some trolls who will always squirt their poison no matter what Letizia does or wears.

    2. You are so right Romana and you had me laughing w the "squirt their poison" comment. :)

    3. Yes Pine, YES! Dazzle us with the diamonds nothing more. And she DID. "Luxurious backdrop" love that.

  11. Letizia's gown is the perfect canvas for her new tiara. But the tiara itself looked a little too big on her..but yeay for new tiara! It might be that the tiara would be better with big hair or hair down, but the Queen will master it soon I believe her 😀

President's wife looks very beautiful and I like her dress.
Letizia is too petite for her sash and tiara. Liked her hairdo.

  13. This was the very first time Letizia had Fleur de Lys Tiara, the biggest tiara in Spanish collection. It is beautiful tiara but Letizia does not wear it, it is other way around, the tiara is wearing Letizia. Slim black evening dress is even strengthening this impression. Though Letizia has really nice hair-do and make-up, she looks sick.

  14. Letizia's hairdo is an artistic work, she looks beautiful but this black dress is somehow to havy for her gracile body. Mrs Awada is very elegant, her dress is wonderful.

  15. So glad to see Letizia wearing "La Buena" and other jewels from the jewelry left to the Crown by Queen Ena!
Yes, the tiara IS big but Letizia( and her hairdresser who is very good) did better than I expected.
Hopefully she'll some more of these.

  16. I think the tiara is amazing! I like that she used a black dress to make the tiara the centre piece and its unfortunate that she was presented with a masculine version of Argentina's Order of the Liberator General San Martín. I think if she had have gone with a more detailed dress there would have been too much going on in the outfit.

  17. ¡Maravillosa Letizia!

  19. An observation and I may be off base with this but.... the Juliana Awada appears to be taller than Letizia. Add heels and she is still taller. If I were Queen I would add a little height so that I am the tallest. I am Queen afterall 🙄😜👑

    I love it! LOL

  20. This is exquisite. The tiara is large of course, but I think that it looks wonderful on Queen Letizia (although I would have expected it to overpower her, I don't find that it does). Her gown is gorgeous and the bracelets and earrings are a perfect complement. I can definitely why people are saying that it's a bit much to take in overall, but the sash is really quite non-negotiable and not meant as a fashion accessory, so I think she's making the most of it. She looks every inch a queen.

  21. Although the tiara looks slightly overpowering on Letizia, it doesn't take away from how beautiful she looks. Love the wrist adornments on the dress. The first lady also looks lovely.

    2. Thanks Angie. Appreciate you taking the time to explain the bracelets. :-)

  23. Wow, massive tiara, and massive sash. The dress is nice and elegant, albeit a bit minimalistic. The problem here is the contrast between the huge-ness of sash and tiara, and that narrow column-dress in a dark colour that optically slims her even more. For a tiara and sash so big, she needed a bigger, more voluminous gown to balance things out. As it, she´s disappearing in that dress, and looks burdened/overwhelmed by both tiara and sash. Also, while I like her hair here, I wonder if a tiara that big requires a bigger hairdo (again, for balance)?

    4. Sorry if I misinterpreted Angie. I am a little testy. They just cut 50 of us from work. Nurses, lawyers and doctors. Oy. I am on edge. Still not an excuse to be attacking anyone. Maybe I read it too quickly. My Spanish is more a Spanglish from Mexico/Texas

Muchas disculpas por ser grosera 😶💖

    5. Angie just can't stand anybody not liking Letizia or what she's wearing. To her she's always perfect. But we all can have our own opinions even if sometimes they disagree with hers. That's the point of this website.

  26. Juliana Awada looks magnificent, her gown, hair and makeup are perfect. Sadly I cannot say the same for Letizia. Whilst the tiara is spectacular, it is far too large for her delicate frame (her hairstyle is beautiful, however) and the gown, whilst designed to showcase the diamonds in my opinion also isn't flattering to Letizia's petite frame.

I am also wondering why Letizia is wearing what appears to be a gentleman's width Argentinian Order? Women's orders are normally much narrower, such as the one Juliana Awada is wearing.

It is totally ridiculous, but I am a little piqued that Juliana Awada has managed to outshine Letizia (considering how she looked in the white gown, I know that is nasty comment).

    1. I read somewhere that the size of the sash is just that size regardless of who it is for as to male or female.

    2. Thanks! It probably looks even larger on Letizia because she is so slim.

  27. I`m a bit late with this, but I have to say these are the first photos in which I can see the base of the tiara, and they don`t seem to have changed it - it seems to be a lot lighter in colour, as would be appropriate for Queen Sofia`s lighter-coloured hair.....
