Beautiful family photo. Who could quibble about that? A family gathering to celebrate their traditions. Gorgeous coat of Queen Sonja. Also love the black coat to complement Princess Mette-Marit's blonde hair.
That looks indeed unpleasantly staged. Photoshoots are seldom completely natural but one should either go for posed portraits, or for natural interaction (and then skip the "scene"). Still a nice family. And the kids have are so big now.
Queen Sonja looks stunning. Her coat is beautiful and her hair and makeup, lovely.
It is a shame that Marius Høiby isn't in the photos, but then he is of an age when it is probably the last thing he would want to do, got to love teenagers!
Staging would have been better without those mandarins in basket. People may take glogg and gingerbreads out but not those mandarins, if making christmas scene. If there was only the first picture I would keep it rather good.
Yes they would. I've just talked to a Norwegian friend and it's quite normal with clementine outside and clementine are very christmas. Norwegian even have oranges with them on a ski trip. And must say I'm not suprised that the readers of this blog even have to critisize a Christmas photo.
I agree with all of it, Louise. Very charming pictures of a nice royal family. They are showing a traditional Norwegian outdoor scene at winter time. Especially Queen Sonja looks stunning. I love her coat.
Amateur actors performing a tv-commercial?
ReplyDeleteYes! Lovely photos but why shiver outside when you have a lovely warm room behind you?

ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks absolutely gorgeous! I hope this is (or becomes) a tradition. Memories they can all cherish.

ReplyDeleteThey look a bit awkward. Too staged.
DeleteDo you suppose there is some bourbon in that flask? LOL
ReplyDeleteThey aren't saying but Haakon's face in the second pic says it all!🍾😂
DeleteHope your ankle injury is well on the mend!
Schnapps, I'd say
DeleteLOL M Hall 😀😂
DeleteThank you! I finally got my cast today! The splint and boot has been awful. Walking around like a newborn calf 🙄 not pretty at all :)

DeleteThanks for the tidbit about the oranges! @Louise
