  1. I want to make a trip to Norway, and find every single pair of black tights that MM owns and burn them!

  2. I love you MM but I just wonder why you seem to wear the same dress to pretty much every event. The dress the hose the sweater. I just cannot make my eyes stop hurting.

Why? Are they out of money? I would love to burn that Valentino. It is this dress or Little House on the Prairie dress.

    Losing interest

    1. Let's just say that chic, she isn't. Her style is getting worse.

    2. Diane i totally agree with you, perhaps she thinks that wearing only black tights will make her looks skinny...MM if a dress has the tag Valentino doesnt mean is gonna look good on you or any other woman....i am starting to think she simply has no taste in clothes, she cant help it because she cannot see herself, it happens...Diane send her your curriculum and apply as her stylist! 😜

    3. LOL Stefania 😉😂😜 as much as I would love to spend some time in Norway I doubt I have the talent for such work. But at this point ALL of us could do well by her as she is just getting worse.

Even Dr Godal in his way too short pants looks better 😨😉😎

    4. MM has just her own style and I like it although I do not like every cloth she picks, she is not trying to copy anybody that is good. She must like her Little House on the Prairie style. I think this dress is from better part of it even, no frills or ruffles. Cardigan looks shabby. Thick tights is practical, we have already some minus degrees Celsius amd snow here in north.

  3. MM has loosed her path. I think she don't want to be in that place anymore. And maybe she's depressed because she wear the same cloths day after day. I wonder if Ari's departure gives her ideas.

  4. Mille fleur print dress, (no matter that is Valentino and mast have cost a lot), cardigan, black tights, boring hair......:-(((( When even the elderly ladies who organize the After-Church coffee on Sunday mornings look better than a crown princess, something is going totally wrong.......

  5. I counted how many days it's been since she last wore that dress. 11 days, way too soon for a repeat. I think we can all agree it's time to retire the Valentino.

    1. Tell that to Queen Margrethe who can use the same galladress two days in a row ;)

  6. Ok, I´m giving up. She´s obviously lost it.
The problem is not a dress. Yes, it is overpriced, and it is rather non-descript for a couture item, but it can be fine if used as the summer dress it is, with the right styling, like on the model. There is no excuse or explanation for Mette-Marit using it in November, with black tights and a frumpy cardigan (and probably a heavy coat over for outside). That´s lacking any sense of fashion, let alone understand of how to dress as a princess, and the result looks ridiculous.
And for the purpose of dressing down since she was attending a student event, any smart casual outfit would have been better suited than this abused haute-couture dress.

    1. She could have worn a nice pair of jeans, a blouse/turtleneck and a jacket or a sweater set or ANYTHING except this and been dressed down but stylish.

      I just do not understand.

  7. I totally approve repeating clothes, even repeating more than once or twice but indeed when it happens as often as with this one people just get tired of seeing it.
The issue with the dress in my opinion is not that it's a bad design but that it isn't properly styled. I don't mind that it's obviously a summer or spring piece, you can wear summer dresses in fall or winter if you wear the proper shoes/jerseys/etc. with it, kind of upgrading it for the cold weather. But it's the same dark cardi and black opaque tights and stilettos all the time. I can totally imagine this with black suede knee high heeled boots, a cashmere jersey with a not too high turtleneck in an interesting colour that suits her: bright emerald green, wine red or even marigold. I understand it's cold in Norway that's why I think she sticks to the opaque tights and I'm okay with that; and that's why I think a cashmere jersey and boots would be a good choice. After all, this looks to be a relaxed event.

    2. That´s not true. Mette-Marit has looked wonderful before and has rightfully gotten exclusively positive feedback from everyone. She CAN look great, irrespective of season and occasion, and it´s both puzzling and frustrating that she chooses to dress so weirdly frumpy all the time. Hence the ongoing criticism.

    3. The cold weather , wind and below zero degrees are not excuse, after all she is not waiting in the early hours of the morning at the bus stop to go to work.

PS I lived in colder climate than Norway. Black tights will not make you warm.

    4. Exactly, the cold weather and snow is all the more reason she should not be wearing a summer/spring dress. Now that I've seen the photos of her outside I'm even more confused as to why she's wearing that bizarre outfit. Does she not own a sweater dress-can she not buy a few sweater dresses? Imagine how different and better she would have looked in a black high neck sweater dress, she could have kept the black tights, and added a pair of knee high suede boots. If you live in a cooler climate then you should be fully prepared for the weather. I think this is just pure laziness on MM's part. She clearly doesn't care about what she wears anymore which is sad because she's a crown princess and future queen.

    5. Louise I live in an area that gets over 100 inches of snow a year and is a tundra for 5 months. I know all about cold, wind, rain and snow. Some days we get 20 inches of snow. Blizzards. That does not mean that I have to dress like Grandma Moses or Laura Ingalls. In fact no one dresses like that here. Maybe from front door to car (but I have a garage so that is not really an issue) but running errands I am bundled up but take away the coat, gloves, hat, scarves it is regular clothes oh and boots . But boots are chic to me. Love my booties and boots. No needs to look like Anuk from the steppes of China all day long.

In Winter I wear below zero coats and I have enough Eddie Bauer clothing to survive outside for days. HOWEVER under all that I don not walk around in black tights with EVERY dress. Nor do I wear only 2 dresses. Nor do I put on a too small cardigan that is buttoned up over my same old tired SPRING SUMMER dress.

Weather extremes don't dictate dress style 100%. Let's be honest here MM dresses frumpy in ALL seasons. She is getting worse.

None of us have ever said anything negative about MM except for her clothes. We all like her and we have all said many times over that she is a very pretty woman with beautiful hair and smile. Our comments are about FASHION.

    6. I wear every day dress, springs, summers, falls and winters in Finland. By winter it can be - 35 C and I am still with dress (and fur coat what I think is the best coat for cold winters no matter what eco terrorists tell us). I have different dresses winter and summer, although winter dresses do not need to have any longer sleeves than summer ones. I like also cardigans but I do not button them up. I wear also very much black thick tights winter time. They are warm and comfortable. Outside of course here we must wear winter boots, some times I change shoes to inside although we mostly have inside no shoes if at home or visiting family or friends. So after this I think Mette Marit is having clothes she keeps comfortable. That big criticism for her tights I do not understand at all, because our weather is not any good to thin tights by winter time. Also other ladies here can have same kind of tights and get no cricism for it.

  10. Try Canada - it's colder here than there. There's no excuse for this mismatched outfit of a summer dress and an ugly cardigan over it. As for the black tights, what can one say..........

I like her. She dresses in a way that's comfortable to her. Has no pretensions. Maybe not fashionable at times but she's doing her duties and doing them well.

  14. I agree that pairing a summer dress with a cardigan is not the best option for a lady who has at her disposal a generous budget for clothes. But look at that warm smile under what seems to me a quite heavy snowfall, her flawless complexion and her unpretentiousness! She's truly endearing.
