Queen Anne Morges of Romania died on August 1, 2016, Monday at 13.45 hours at the hospital she is treated in Switzerland. The Queen was 92 years old. Queen Anne and her husband King Michael have been living in Switzerland since 2004 and having their holidays in Romania. After the fall of monarchy in 1947 and establishment of the republic, the Queen and the King were removed from the throne and they had lived in exile in Western countries since 1992.

The funeral ceremony of the Queen and the burial will take place in Romania. On August 9, Tuesday, the body of the Queen will be brought to Romania and the body will stay one day in Peles Castle Honour Hall according to the Romanian Royal funeral customs and then the body will be transferred to Calea Victoriei Royal Palace Hall. Everybody who wants to show their respects and present flowers may visit that hall. On August 13, Saturday, the funeral ceremony of the Queen will take place. After the funeral ceremony to be held at O Curtea de Argeş Cathedral, she will be buried. May she rest in peace.

  1. The queen was a very beautiful woman when she was young, also the king was a goodlooking man.

  2. King Michael and Queen Anne lived exile after 1947. They were alloved to visit Romania after 1997.
