    courses, like first aid or target shooting, it will keep them busy for a while

Is the Danish Home Guard like the British Territorial Army, is Mary doing weekend short courses and training exercises that could eventually lead to qualifications and even an officers commission, where she could actually be called up for active service in time of emergency or war?
