  1. Is she still called Queen now that she is no longer queen, but her son is now King Felipe and his wife, Queen Letizia?

    1. Yes, she is referred to as Queen Sofia. It's different from the Netherlands, where the former monarch takes on a "Princess" title after abdication.

    2. Yes she is still called Queen. Unfortunately when Juan Carlos abdicated they requested to still be referred to that unsteady of returning to be called Prince and Princess like Beatrix did

    3. Albert and Paola of Belgium are also still called King and Queen. I can't see a big problem with that.
