Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden gave birth to a boy. On the occasion of that birth, a cabinet meeting was held at the Royal Palace on March 3. King Gustaf stated that the name given to the Prince is Oscar Carl Olof and informed the cabinet that the Prince has been appointed as the Duke of Skane.

At the meeting held because of the birth of Prince Carl Olof Oscar, the witnesses were Talman Urban Ahlin, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, Svante Lindqvist, Kirstine von Blixen-Finecke, gynecologist Lennart Nordstrom Mistress and nurse midwife Cecilia Lind.
