Dutch Royals attend ceremony of Military Willems Order 2016

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands attends the ceremony of the Military Order of William (Militaire Willemsorde) to honor and award the Commando Corps at the Binnenhof on March 15, 2016 in the Hague, The Netherlands. This unit is distinguished for their extraordinary efforts in Afghanistan. The Willems-Orde is oldest and most prestigious medal in the Kingdom of The Netherlands for excellent bravery on the battlefield.

  1. The Queen looks lovely and regal. Grey is such a nice color with proper accessories. The King should hit the gym a bit more and stay out of the cookie jar or he won't fit in that uniform next year....

  5. Usually I like how Maxima looks but not on this photos. Her face does not look fresh, she looks tired and to that she is too much in all grey color. Maybe if it was mixed with white or something else.

    1. I agree, grey makes Maxima's olive skin colour (compare it to her husband's ruddy complexion)look sallow, muddy and slightly greenish in the shadowed areas of her face.
      I always admire Maxima's trademark colour-coordinated formal looks, with hat and gloves detailing -- but for once, I feel that this example is too busy. Removing the waist bow would help a lot. I know waist ties are very trendy now, but they add bulk, thickening and width right where most women don't need it.

  6. Je n'aime pas le gris chez la reine Maxima. Même elle, si colorée et enjouée comme personne, ne parvient pas à nous faire oublier cette tristounette couleur.
