  1. I like the twins, and I am happy for Charlene's new family... But it's a pity that Albert hasn't spent his previous Christmas' with Jasmine and Alexandre. He has 4 children, not just 2. He also refused to recognize them until DNA test. Not a good example of father

    2. Hey Anonymous 21:24.
It is not criticism, it's simply my opinion. I don't think they are cute. Can you pls tolerate that?

    3. Every photographer can tell you just how hard it is to photograph babies and small children. Babies are notorious for not producing their best “looks” or smiles on command. Getting good shots before a baby starts getting tired and restless is a matter of luck; trying to get 2 babies to even look to camera at the same time must be extra hard. I am sure anyone who has tried to capture an image of their own baby’s radiant smile will know what I mean.
This is why it is so “hit-or-miss” to judge a baby’s cuteness (or otherwise) from photos. I think most people who have had children know that one has to meet the baby in person first before judging; so, when it comes to royal baby photos, they very sensibly give the child the benefit of the doubt - knowing that the baby may turn on the charm and the cuteness seconds after the camera is put away!
But beyond the wisdom of not relying on photos, any discussion about “lack of cuteness” of a royal baby begs the question: why is the topic being raised in the first place?
To be honest, it comes across as impolite. Most people understand that making negative comments about a person’s physical attractiveness is rude. Of course, all of us have some negative opinions about certain others - but good manners teach us when to express those opinions and when to keep them to ourselves. This is a public forum, not a closed chatroom, so the usual rules of polite discourse apply.
Apart from politeness, a common-sense reason why regular royal followers don’t bother to publish their view if they find royal “x” to be unattractive, is because everyone understands that beauty is “in the eye of the beholder” and a matter of personal taste. For each and every royal, there is and will always be a percentage of the population who finds that royal to be unattractive, another percentage which finds the royal to be very attractive, and a spectrum in between who don’t feel strongly either way. No amount of “discussion” is going to change those responses, so as a topic in itself it is a waste of readers’ time.
The third reason why the “not cute” comments are, in my view, out of place, is the implied importance of attractiveness – by harping on its absence. Most royal followers understand that physical attractiveness isn’t necessary to royal life. Royal babies are not auditioning for a model agency. So it’s very odd indeed to read comments giving emphasis to a royal’s facial looks -- and starting right from earliest infancy! Young royal girls in particular may have a hard time developing a balanced attitude to their bodies, when even their followers and supporters turn royal commentaries into “opinion polls” debating their “attractiveness”. I think that when it comes to personal qualities of royals, our comments need to focus less on the physical, and more the qualities which really matter. A “visual” blog such as this is perfect for encouraging us to look beyond the superficial, and to always question the omnipotence of the visual image.

Maybe if Princess Charlene dressed the little ones nicer way they would look much prettier.

    6. A24-45,we can only make comments how the Royals look and how they dressed and that I suppose include even their children. Unfortunately we can not judge their qualities because we do not know them personally.

  11. This Chridtmas I was watching famous Circus Festival of Monaco. What a wonderfull event! Princess Charlene was sitting next to the Prince Albert watching people doing incredible things in front of her. And she had NOTHING on her face...I mean - absolutely nothing. Not a single smile. She was like "pffff...whatever...I'm borred". How it's even possible? If you are Princess your job is at least to pretend hawing greate time at Circus. So dissapointed

  16. I think Albert, Charlene and their twins make a lovely family. I can't comment about the Princes older children because I am not going to rely upon what is in the media, except to say if the older children didn't spend Christmas in Monaco that would be no great surprise. Most people spend Christmas with the families they grew up with.

Charlene may or may not like Albert's older children. Charlene may think they are great kids, however despite what Charlene thinks they are great she is in the difficult position of being a "Step-mother" and the Mother to Albert's legitimate heirs so Charlene might be the brunt of a lot of resentment from Albert's older children.

As for the Circus, Charlene didn't grow up "Royal" as many people point out. Charlene might be trying to raise her children as a "normal" Mum would. Attending to them when they wake at night, she could even as some women do, still be breast feeding them despite the fact they are over 12 months old. Yes Charlene would have Nannies, but she might be trying to be a hands on a Mother (as much as she can be). I imagine Albert would support this 100% (he adored his Mother). So Charlene might have been bone weary at the Circus, or she may have just not liked the show.

  21. Albert and Charlene have been very generous with photos of their lovely family. I for one have been very disappointed by the lack of photos given out so far by William and Kate of their new princess. It took almost six months for a new photo of Princess Charlotte to be released.
