With two fox tails leading the field and 32 obstacles along the course, this year’s Hubertus Hunt took place in Dyrehaven. On November 1, 2026, Queen Mary attended the annual event, watching the Hubertus Hunt (Hubertusjagten) from the balconies of the Hermitage Hunting Lodge (Eremitageslottet) in Klampenborg, as well as from along the route.

The tradition dates back to 1900 and, with only a few exceptions, has been maintained ever since. The Hubertus Hunt continues the tradition of the old parforce hunts, for which Dyrehaven was originally established. In the past, dogs were sent out to track down foxes along the park’s star-shaped network of paths, while the riders followed behind. Today, real foxes have been replaced by fox tails carried by two experienced riders who lead the field.

This year’s victory went to Katia Bøgedal riding Bøgedals Fresh Mint. Following the hunt, she received the “H.M. Queen Mary’s Honorary Prize” from Queen Mary in front of the Hermitage Hunting Lodge. Among the ponies, the winner was Clara Strøm riding Lonsdals Anna.
