Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is undertaking an official visit to Ghana in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA). On the final day of her visit, Queen Máxima met with President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House in Accra. She also met with Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson and Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Pandit Asiama.
Altuzarra Adikia Dress

Other than the beautiful outfit of the first day after arrival, (white blouse and navy blue skirt) which I think was all new, Maxima's rewears of outfits in subsequent days have been a delight to see, including this green one, and all of them very appropriate for the warm humid conditions, and colourful culture of W.Africa. She looked perfect throughout the visit.

If this dress is not a special joke the pointe of which is unknown to me, then I must say it is plain ugly (for me). There is not one single feature I like on it and the pattern is disturbing.
ReplyDeleteAgree totally….it’s a hideous dress!
DeleteOf all her dresses, this is the one I like the least. There isn’t a single redeeming feature. The patterns and colors clash with one another. It reminds me of a soccer field.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear! What on earth is she thinking?
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts as well
DeleteThis dress looks fine, but I dislike the hemline.
ReplyDeleteDress and hair a big fail.
ReplyDeleteWhen a royal lady always buy new clothes she receives bad comments these days. When a royal lady often wears her old(er) clothes she receives bad comments too. The only thing I do no like on this dress is the uneven hem. It is a summer dress and the print was fashion in the days the dress was new. It is an excellent dress to wear in a hot climate. It looks better on Queen Maxima than on the model.
ReplyDelete@07:08: "excellent dress to wear in a hot climate": please tell us, how does the hot climate explain this horrific eye-disturbing pattern and the hemline, to mention only the worst features?
DeleteAwfull dress, awfull hair, awfull shoes
ReplyDelete... and an awfullly boring commenter here
DeleteAt first I thought that this dress may have been selected because it is an African or Ghanaian design -- but it's not, it's by US fashion house Altuzarra.
ReplyDeleteI agree with those who dislike this dress. With those twisted knots, it looks like a beach sarong which was converted into a makeshift dress. As 5/11 21:59 says, not one redeeming feature. Lyra
Oh non, cette robe n'est pas du tout à mon goût !
ReplyDeleteThis dress will improve enough to wear it on certain occasions if it is shortened to even the hem. It will be right beneth the knee and will look better, imo.
ReplyDeleteTout ce qui ressemble à du tie and die ne me plaît pas. C'est pour moi, comme brouillon, indécis.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if she was lost with all the clothes she wore on this trip.
ReplyDeleteNot my favourite dress, I am not a fan of uneven hems. Perhaps if the sleeves were 3/4 length it would break up the pattern a bit. Colours are nice and tropical so okay for where she is visiting.
