On November 7, 2026, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attended the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a polka-dot pleated midi dress by Alessandra Rich, which she had previously worn in 2022 for Prince Philip's memorial service. Her poppy, designed by Izzy Ager for Lock & Co., was also a repeat from 2025. The poppy was handmade from silk, glass and other natural materials.
The Duchess wore a midnight-blue metallic-knit dress by AlaĂŻa, accessorised with a gold choker by Giulia Barela, an Italian jewellery brand. She had previously worn the dress in 2024, as well as during a visit to the Channel Islands in 2022.
The annual Festival of Remembrance honours the service and sacrifice of British and Commonwealth Armed Forces personnel, past and present. Traditionally held on the eve of Remembrance Sunday, the event is attended by senior members of the Royal Family. Organised by the Royal British Legion, the commemorative concert pays tribute to all those who have lost their lives in conflict.

I really like this dress of Sophie's but with the wrap it doesn't work as well. No Prince Edward. It's the POW's type of dress. Not a fan but I like those earrings. I like the Duchess of Gloucester's dress. I'm sure the shoes are comfortable. Camilla's smiling now that she's back in England. Hope Charles doesn't need an umbrella.
ReplyDeleteCamilla smiled a lot on their carribean tour. And why not?
DeleteI think he’s there eg photo 10; just not in these photos which are chosen to show the women. Re Sophie’s wrap, I think it’s spot on: we have to allow for practicality in fashion: if someone runs hot, a shortsleeved dress with a light wrap to put on and off is a practical and stylish solution.
DeleteYes Coralie, there were some absolutely delightful photos of smiling Camilla. Also of Charles, and them together. Can’t blame him for needing an umbrella pronto while in public duties and a string of appointments to follow; the tropical rain comes so fast and so drenching, if you’re not under shelter the second it starts, you are drenched and that is really uncomfortable if you’re also presenting yourself in public!
DeleteSophie's dress is very attractive, especially up close, so effective. I understand why she wore the wrap, but the overall look is not as good, on the other hand the photo of previous wear, she looked incredibly good in this dress.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess of Gloucester's dress looks good, as does her jewellery, I especially love the what appears to be heart shaped diamond and pearl brooch, dainty, subtle, but the perfect size, and positioned, on target! Love her earrings.
A wonderful dress for Catherine! Romantic and elegant. She looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow elegant they all are. Fine black stockings really do flatter everyone. I love Catherine’s dress and think her accessories including hair style perfectly complementary. Sophie’s dress has a whole lot of subdued sparkle which I love and her simple black wrap/shawl is a perfect extra to make this short sleeved dress stretch into the cooler months.
ReplyDeleteIt is the second time these days that Sophie wears a wrap, probably because both dresses are short-sleeved (see here: https://www.newmyroyals.com/2026/10/the-duchess-of-edinburgh-visits-solar.html). She does it either because it is cold for short sleeves or because of the occasion (Remembrance Day) or both? It is a pity, both dresses are (or would be) really good on her without partially hiding them, it lessens the elegant "wholesome" impression she could make without the wrap. - Alessandra Rich is quite good for Catherine, very feminine design. Maybe the high neck is just a tad too much, but her hairstyle is very good, allows a clean front silhouette .
ReplyDeleteHow can a wrap be a pity, great commenter? If you need a light extra layer to be able to put on an off when you are cooler or warmer, you need something … a wrap is a simple and elegant option.
Delete* oops that was “dear commenter”, with respect! - not “great” which sounds facetious but it wasn’t meant to be (just a weird spell checker change, sorry!)
Delete@11:36 "How can a wrap be a pity, great commenter? " It can. Because opinions may differ, among other things about wraps in a well-heated place like the Royal Albert Hall. So it is a pity for me, if you allow, that Sophie did not wear a long-sleeved dress for Remembrance Day, as the other ladies. - But may be she would value your fierce defence of her wrap.
