On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Amalia hosted a dinner for the members of the Council of State at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. The Council of State is an independent adviser to the government and parliament on legislation and governance, as well as the Netherlands’ highest general administrative court.
The King serves as President of the Council of State. Princess Amalia has been a member of the Council of State and its Advisory Division since her eighteenth birthday. Queen Máxima is also a member of the Advisory Division. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a red dress by Iversen, while Princess Amalia wore a lime-green halterneck maxi dress by Mango.

The royals are looking very good. The queen and princess are both wearing flattering colors. Love the braid on the princess and wish we could see the back of her outfit with the wrap.
ReplyDeleteYes, very chic the two royal ladies. Maxima can be proud of her daughter.
DeleteI agree, both mother and daughter look great
DeleteI like Maximas's gown better also beautiful strong color. Amalias gown is also very nice, not a fan of the lime green, but Amalia can pull it off well.

I love the red gown, the addition of the diamond brooch, looks incredible, perfectly placed, and adding interest. This is a glorious brooch, I love this jewel piece. Her hair looks beautiful. I like the additions of her diamond bracelets. Her earrings up close are very pretty. The Mango gown looks beautiful, suits her perfectly. I like this shade of green. The over cover blends well. I like her earrings, makeup is perfect, love her hair, beautiful presentation by the royal ladies.
ReplyDeleteThe brooch is indeed gorgeous and it's a pity that I can't see it properly (at least on these photos), because it's hidden behind Maxima's hair.
DeleteI've always hated that large belt and I'm glad it's gone or appears to be. Much better. I prefer Princess Amalia's gown. Like the color. Overall pretty good showing.
ReplyDeleteQ. Maxima is actually wearing the belt with the buckle not at the front but on her back.
DeleteMother and daughter so beautiful! Lovely dresses in wonderful colours!
ReplyDeleteThey both do look wonderful, but I would have preferred a more classic hairstyle for Amalia. This is much too informal for this occasion.
ReplyDeleteAh Coralie, we are normally totally in accord, but in this instance, I love Amalia's hairstyle. She's only 22, and has shown us she can dress to perfection on a tiara event.. but I think she can have every liberty meanwhile to explore (including fashion) and feel free to discover who she is and what she enjoys. I also think that plaits/braids are for some reason mostly seen in children, whereas they are a wonderful and neat way to display long hair in a very tamed manner. I LOVE her long plait, and think it flatters her and the dress.

DeleteI entirely agree with you.
I too usually agree with a lot of Coralie's comments but this time I'm with Anon 08:59. I think Amalia looks youthful and contemporary with her hairstyle that is most appropriate for her age. Also, it's WA and Maxima who are the principals at this dinner. Amalia is there for the experience for her future role more than anything else, so she has the freedom to 'let down her hair' a bit if you will excuse the pun :)
DeleteBoth mother and daughter look gorgeous.

Thanks for the pun Anon 9:13. I so wish we had more puns and less hypercritical commentary here! And thanks P too. Coralie … you can see you have fans here and we have noted your excellent thoughtfulness with which we are normally 100% in agreement!
ReplyDeleteFabulous colour for Max. Fabulous hair and make up for Amalia - she does not need to hide behind her mother which I feel she is doing a little here!! You are gorgeous girl…own it!!
ReplyDeleteWA looking smart too.
JJ
I don't think she's hiding; I think there's a wall or doorframe just to her left, and she needs to squeeze in!
DeleteJust back from their long Greek vacation, the traveling royals they look tan and fit. Lucky family!
ReplyDeleteA 10 day break is normal for any family.
Deletethey have been so busy most of the year!

ReplyDeleteThis very very light cape / shawl, which is very on trend with younger women right now, is a magnificent idea to take a dress which reveals quite a lot of skin (elegantly, but nevertheless) and turn it into a much more covered dress for an evening. It's a simple way to change the look of a dress and use it twice as often and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteAlthough Princess Amalia doesn't have as slim figure as the model, the dress suits her very well, it's not too tight and it creates a silhouette as intended by the design. Probably, she wore a bigger size to match her body shape. Princess Leonor should have done the same when she chose that red dress for Princess of Asturias awards.
ReplyDeleteI’m very glad too that she doesn’t have the figure of the model, who looks like she may not be eating adequate calories for health.
DeleteBut she looks absolutely gorgeous and slim ....
DeleteI think Amalia looks better in the dress than the model.
DeleteBoth ladies look fabulous. I like the green mango dress the style gives Amelia a nice silhouette. Her braid is very uniguely plaited, the portions were not equal in thickness giving a softer appearance. The queen suits that cheery red colour. The king very dapper in his tux, he looks rested.
ReplyDeleteAmalie looks slimmer.
ReplyDeleteI agree her face seems slimmer and she is beginning to look more like her mother than I’ve noticed before - in mannerisms and facial expression particularly. She is gorgeous at any weight in my opinion - whatever is healthy for her. We have to remember she is also a very tall young woman. We are all different…when I was her age I wished I was less skinny than I was, now 20 years on I wish I was that thin again!
DeleteThe Mango apple/ lime- green halterneck maxi dress looks marvellous on CP Amalia
ReplyDeleteI like the way the cape was styled to cover her décolleté and shoulders given the formality of the event.
She has the height and majestic look to make this gown shine to her best advantage.
Q.Maxima is also a show stopper here, her sunset red- hued one - shoulder gown looks flattering on her and she has the right body shape to wear a fitted, unforgiving number.
Like her brooch too.
The King is perfectly dressed and groomed.
What a glorious, energetic splash of colour mother and daughter showcased, on this occasion, well done to them!
P. the original
DeletePrincess Amalia's silky dress by Mango is transparent and I do not mean the cape part. On the last picture one can see her belly shine through the dress. I prefer the dress like worn by the model whose belly is also visible.
ReplyDeleteI like Amalia's make-up. It is not overdone this time and her face looks much younger than sometimes when she is dressed in evening wear or for a special occasion.
It’s not transparent on my screen
DeleteIt’s not transparent on my screen
DeleteYes I noticed the see through, it seems to be fashion to wear intimate wear as outer wear, slinky slip like fabric
DeleteAbsolute perfection from both women.
ReplyDeleteNeat presentation, but not perfection, imo. How different Maxima's hair is from the previous engagement, different colour, length and texture !!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see the KING again!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth mother and daughter look gorgeous. (And dad looks very dapper).
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
Princess Amelia certainly is turning into a real beauty. I like her gown. You really have to know your skin tone to pull off that shade of green.
ReplyDeleteWell said!
DeleteBraid is a wonderful hairstyle!
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies have interesting hairstyles here - Maxima with her alternating hair sections/part, and Amalia with her loose french braid. I quite like Amalia’s braid, but might prefer a more typical part for Maxima. I like the bright colors of both ladies’ dresses.
