Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his wife, Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam, are paying a state visit to Sweden at the invitation of King Carl XVI Gustaf. On the evening of October 19, the King and Queen Silvia hosted a state banquet at the Royal Palace in Stockholm in honour of the presidential couple.
Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill were also in attendance.
For the occasion, Queen Silvia wore the Connaught Diamond Tiara, the Pink Topaz Parure and the Order of the Seraphim. Crown Princess Victoria wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara, Diamond Floral Earrings, the Baden Opal Brooch and the Order of the Seraphim.
Princess Madeleine wore a red gown by Safiyaa, paired with the Modern Fringe Tiara and the Order of the Seraphim.
Two state dinners on the same night….gowns and tiaras galore!!!
ردحذفSame as the Danes, the Swedish royals are very well turned out for the event. I think all of the ladies look gorgeous and are wearing tiaras and jewels suited to them. The lilac gown with the pale blue is beautiful on the Queen. PM always looks great in red and this gown fits perfectly with a stunning neckline. CPV is wearing my favorite because it’s a departure from the typical silk/satin color gowns. Her hair up actually works well here.
What a lovely sparkly display from the Swedish royal ladies tonight. It has been a long time since I have seen Queen Silvia wear the Connaught diamond tiara, but it pairs well with her glittery lilac dress and pink topaz brooch. While I am not the biggest fan of the turtleneck style CP Victoria makes it work. Her white long sleeve dress is a perfect choice for the chillier weather. The Baden Opal brooch is one of favorites from the collection. My favorite look of the night was definitely Princess Madeleine. Red is such a lovely color on her, and I think it is a nice nod to the flag of Singapore. I loved how she wore 2 tiaras for tonight's banquet, the Moden fringe and King Edward VII Ruby tiara as a necklace. Very regal indeed.

Madeleine looks very elegant and regal. It is good to see this sleek and modern red gown again, it fits her perfectly. Also love her hairstyle and jewellery.

حذفI think Victoria’s gown is stunning! I would have loved to see it for real or in a video as it looks like it has a sparkle too it (not bridal) and would move very beautifully.

ردحذفI'm not very excited about the outfit of the Queen and Crown Princess. Silvia's dress would look better with a narower skirt, imo. Victoria's dress gives off some wedding vibes. Princess Madeleine's dress is simple but her whole look is very beautiful. I wanted to have a closer look at her necklace but she seemed to take it off during the dinner. It's nice to finally see Chris smiling (photo 1).

ردحذفWhilst the gowns are beautiful and suit the individual, I think simple diamond studs would neaten the neckline of Q.Silvia's dress, P.Madeleine made a wise choice to remove her necklace it took away the impact of the gown, CP Victoria's gown is beautiful in style and material but would have looked better in a different colour because as it is it is too bridal.
ردحذفI like Madeleine’s elegant red dress with its clean lines the best. I wonder what the story is behind her taking off her necklace for the dinner. I don’t care for Victoria’s dress for this occasion; it looks bridal to me. Silvia looks every inch the bejeweled, elegant queen, as usual.

Queen Silvia looks smashing (safe the rolled up neckline, though) with the Pink Topaz Demi Parure and the Connaught Tiara. A bit of a lace overwhelm going on with CP Victoria, but the Laurel Wreath Tiara being a perfect match nonetheless. One magic necklace disappearance - well, I hope the removal was not because of a severe malfunction of the Ruby-Tiara-converted-to-necklace that night. So, bring on the Windsor bunch (Oman State Visit) next, please!
ردحذفVictoria wins this one! This gown is perfect for her and she looks amazing! Madeline's gown is pretty, she looks great in red, but Victoria in white lace gets the prize from me.
