On October 8, 2026, Queen Sofía presided over the presentation of the 2026 Fundación MAPFRE Social Awards at the Real Casino de Madrid. The awards recognize the commitment, and solidarity of individuals and institutions whose outstanding work benefits society. This year’s recipients were Teresa Perales, Ayúdame3D, AESLEME, and Cortijo Guadiana.
Upon her arrival, Queen Sofía was welcomed by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Luis Planas; Secretary-General of the Ibero-American Community Andrés Allamand; MAPFRE Group and Fundación MAPFRE President Antonio Huertas; and Infanta Elena.
Best Initiative in the Agricultural Sector: Cortijo Guadiana, an olive farm belonging to the Castillo de Canena group and located between the Cazorla and Mágina mountain ranges in Jaén. Best Project for Social Impact: Ayúdame3D, founded in 2017 after its founder visited an orphanage, where he delivered the first prostheses to five people with amputated limbs.
Best Organization for its Social Achievements: the Association for the Study of Spinal Cord Injury (AESLEME), which works to prevent serious injuries resulting from road accidents through awareness and education programmes.
José Manuel Martínez Martínez Lifetime Achievement Award: Paralympic swimmer Teresa Perales, recognized for “a career marked by sporting excellence, the ability to overcome challenges, and her contribution to society and equal opportunities.”
