On Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2026, Queen Máxima presented the 2026 Appeltjes van Oranje Awards at Noordeinde Palace. King Willem-Alexander and Princess Beatrix attended the ceremony. Each year, the Oranje Fonds presents the Appeltjes van Oranje to three social initiatives in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This year’s winners were Doors Wide Open in Hof van Twente, the Mega D Youth Foundation (MYF) on Sint Eustatius, and Stek Den Haag – Buurt & Lukas. Doors Wide Open supports people experiencing poverty through practical assistance and personal guidance.
The Mega D Youth Foundation (MYF) on Sint Eustatius gives young people opportunities to develop through after-school programmes, homework support, healthy meals, and activities that contribute to their talent development and future prospects. Stek Den Haag – Buurt & Lukas is a place where meeting others, building connections, and caring for one another are at the heart of everything they do.
This year, the Appeltjes van Oranje focused on organizations that help people achieve lasting freedom from poverty and debt. In anniversary years, the King presents the awards, while in other years they are presented by Queen Máxima. The prize consists of a bronze statuette designed by Princess Beatrix and a cash prize of €25,000.

I love this ensemble, the outfit, looks so elegant, pretty color and suits her well. Her accessories, shoe color perfect. Love her earrings. Her hair looks good.
ReplyDeleteA lovely color, but the fit is poor; it’s a nicely styled piece, yet I struggle with synthetic hair—I can't get used to the frequent shifts between thin and thick sections, and I personally prefer a natural look,

ReplyDeleteLooks a skirt and top to me. The top doesn't fit well, better foundation garments needed (again), the cut of the sleeves gives an odd triangular effect. Silly furry bag! Odd,dull and certainly not flattering.
