On Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2026, Queen Máxima presented the 2026 Appeltjes van Oranje Awards at Noordeinde Palace. King Willem-Alexander and Princess Beatrix attended the ceremony. Each year, the Oranje Fonds presents the Appeltjes van Oranje to three social initiatives in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This year’s winners were Doors Wide Open in Hof van Twente, the Mega D Youth Foundation (MYF) on Sint Eustatius, and Stek Den Haag – Buurt & Lukas. Doors Wide Open supports people experiencing poverty through practical assistance and personal guidance.
The Mega D Youth Foundation (MYF) on Sint Eustatius gives young people opportunities to develop through after-school programmes, homework support, healthy meals, and activities that contribute to their talent development and future prospects. Stek Den Haag – Buurt & Lukas is a place where meeting others, building connections, and caring for one another are at the heart of everything they do.
This year, the Appeltjes van Oranje focused on organizations that help people achieve lasting freedom from poverty and debt. In anniversary years, the King presents the awards, while in other years they are presented by Queen Máxima. The prize consists of a bronze statuette designed by Princess Beatrix and a cash prize of €25,000.

حذفI love this ensemble, the outfit, looks so elegant, pretty color and suits her well. Her accessories, shoe color perfect. Love her earrings. Her hair looks good.
ردحذفA lovely color, but the fit is poor; it’s a nicely styled piece, yet I struggle with synthetic hair—I can't get used to the frequent shifts between thin and thick sections, and I personally prefer a natural look,
ردحذفJust a quick comment about her hair. I have the same hair as Maxima and my hair can look completely different depending on how I choose to style. It can be flat as a pancake or have volume and has nothing to do with synthetic hair. Just a matter time and effort. And if she adds extensions, I guarantee it’s not synthetic but real hair.

ردحذفLooks a skirt and top to me. The top doesn't fit well, better foundation garments needed (again), the cut of the sleeves gives an odd triangular effect. Silly furry bag! Odd,dull and certainly not flattering.

حذف@11.19 mee eens, er staat héél weinig in de koninklijke agenda. De kleding voegt niets toe aan de enorme hoeveelheid die ze heeft aangeschaft en de pasvorm is helaas heel erg belabberd.

ردحذفOn the Dutch websites it is said the red dress is by Natan. I thought so because of the shape of the short sleeves and of the A-shape of the skirt. It is not bad, but for this event which is repeated each year a more festive look would be better or simply a brooch near one of her shoulders.
ردحذفI like the color, but it doesn't fit right, it makes her chest area too big and the belt too tight. It looks cheap. Probably Natan.

Another re-wear that should not have been worn. Unremarkable design, overly triangular silhouette adds bulk, does not fit well across the midriff.
